  1. Seconded, I was at the Nebraska v A&M game in '98 and have had nothing but great experiences with Husker fans. Sorry for this to end the way it did, good luck the rest of the way.
  2. Theoretically possible. OU would have to beat OSU and A&M would have to be within one spot of OU in the BCS standings to win the tiebreaker.
  3. When you have several thousand additional people sitting on the field it's not exactly rushing the field, they're pretty much already there. A few people did come out of the stands but at the end of the game the lower deck was for the most part still full.
  4. Up until the last few weeks he's pretty consistently hated on the Aggies actually, you can find lots of "Mark May is a douche" type threads from the past on TexAgs. At least there's one thing we can all agree on
  5. You might be surprised. Fuller will play on Sundays and EZ and Swope both have that potential as only sophomores. Couple points, the biggest being that while the media is loving the "WR turned QB" angle Tannehill was recruited as a QB and was barely beaten out for the starting job by Johnson two seasons in a row (the second season the nod was given to Johnson based on past experience). He was converted to reciever because he was too good of an athlete to keep off the field and responded by almost breaking the A&M single season receiving yards record as a freshman and then being named honorable mention All Big 12 as a sophomore. Point being, he IS a qb and the guy can play. That being said, those of us realistic about things know that while he's very talented and he knows the offense inside out he's still learning the position at the college level and will make some mistakes. I think if he's on tomorrow night and the A&M defense is on it's game we could be in for a heck of a ride tomorrow night. We'll see.
  6. Another Aggie here who's never heard of this guy. For the poster complaining about Texas and Bush, you do know where Cheney was from?
  7. About the same thing that happened to you guys against Texas And yeah, quite serious. I don't think we're going to blow you out, but I think a lot of people are underrating A&M on both offense and defense and if we're sharp I think this could be a heck of a game. Touche fig, Touche. I like it I respect your confidence It's what makes games like this great. I had a good German Army/Poland reference I was going to make in my previous post, but it seemed innapropriate at the time..... Best of Luck to you guys and GBR!! You too man, I don't usually spend this much time on an opponent's board but you guys are my most respected fans in the Big 12 (outside of us Ags of course), it's sad to lose y'all to another conference. I was actually at the '98 game and I'm hoping for another result like that one, thinking we're in for a great game in any case. Good luck!

  9. FYI, our horrible pass defense held OSU to 284 yards passing. OSU had 283 against Nebraska.
  10. That's going around right now, Big 12 officiating as a whole has just been abysmal. I'm not a conspiracy theorist type but last week A&M had 3 td's called back ON THE SAME DRIVE, once for a legitimate offensive interference call and the other two on ticky tack illegal formation/illegal man downfield penalties. As of the OU game our opponents had been called for holding twice the entire season which borders on the ridiculous. That being said I don't the bad officiating is targeted, it's just plain bad. As a former ref. I must ask how and why you believe illegal formation and illegal man downfield is ticky tack? I didn't see the game or the penalties your talking about, but illegal formation is very basic. I'm assuming you didn't have enough men on the line of scrimmage. It's pretty hard to miss that one. Illegal formation is about as ticky tack as false start as far as I'm concerned. Illegal man downfield is also for the most part a pretty straight forward call. Of the three penalties you listed, the offensive interference is the most subjective. Totally agree with you. I said tickytack because we had a former A&M offensive line player break down all of A&M's offensive series vs Baylor in a TexAgs article and he couldn't see a penalty on either play, the exact same formation was used throughout the game with no penalties. The ref appears to have called our receiver in the inside slot as lining up on the line of scrimmage when he was clearly at least a yard back.
  11. You could also argue that the passing offenses that Nebraska has played have been largely unimpressive outside of Mizzou and OSU. Idaho is the #6 passing offense in the country. Ok, so 3 of 10? I'm not saying NU doesn't have a good D, quite the opposite actually as I think you guys are the best defensive unit we'll see this season. I just think this is a game where it's tough to compare stats because of how these two teams have played this season. Nebraska has been very up-and-down inconsistent and A&M is a totally different team the last 3 games than the first 7.

  14. If you want to meet some friendly Ags post over on TexAgs.com and you're sure to get invited to a few tailgates.
  15. FYI this is very much not the case, Saturday's game is probably the most hyped game in College Station in the last ten years. The crowd and the team will be UP for this one. I think the A&M defense is better than many think and this is going to be one heck of a game.
  16. This is really key IMO. Tannehill does have great pocket presence, he steps up into the pocket well, has great velocity on his throws and can throw well on the run (check out the play at around the 1:00 mark ). He's also got some wheels and isn't afraid to take off, first play against OU was a zone read that he took for 60-something yards. That being said NU is without question the best defensive unit we'll face all season, it'll be interesting to see what he and our front five can do.
  17. It actually gets pretty complicated, largely because if OU beats OSU that'll mean we've each beaten each other once. Best that I've seen it figured out is that it's going to probably come down to whoever has the highest BCS ranking, here's the list of tiebreakers: 1. The records of the three teams will be compared against each other 2. The records of the three teams will be compared within their division 3. The records of the three teams will be compared against the next highest placed teams in their division in order of finish (4, 5 and 6) 4. The records of the three teams will be compared against all common conference opponents. 5. The highest ranked team in the first Bowl Championship Series poll following the completion of Big 12 regular season conference play shall be the representative in the Big 12 Championship Game, unless two of the tied teams are ranked within one spot of the other in the BCS poll. In this case, the head-to-head results of the top two ranked tied teams shall determine the representative in the Big 12 Championship Game. 6. The team with the best overall winning percentage (excluding exempted games) shall be the representative. 7. The representative will be chosen by draw.
  18. While having Michael out does hurt us a bit I don't know that you guys have seen a whole lot of Cyrus Gray yet. He's more of a big play bounce it outside sort of back and was just barely our #2 back, he can do some damage. Drop a message over on TexAgs and you'll get a bunch of great offers to hang out and take in Kyle Field.
  19. We are getting the A team for the broadcast that night, Musburger and Herbstreit are calling it. I find Brent rather annoying but he is their #1.
  20. I think we have different sorts of players than OSU, not all of the explosive big play capability (although Gray is a home run threat and so is Swope) but a very consistent offense that's tough to stop when it's executing. Tannehill may be a bit green at QB but he's been in the offense for almost 3 years and knows it inside out and he's got great poise in the pocket. I do agree that NU is the best defense we'll see this season but I think if our offense gets in a rhythm it could be a fantastic end-to-end kind of game and we've been playing very well the past few weeks. I expect either a very close game or a blowout in Nebraska's favor.
  21. Really hard to compare the two, they're very different types of receivers. Blackmon is a big play guy whereas Fuller is a possession receiver with great hands. I do think Fuller is underrated in general though. Howdy from Houston btw, always been impressed with your fanbase and wanted to come check things out over here. Really looking forward to the game on Saturday, should be a good one.
