  1. I agree with you that having a freshmen QB will limit your play calling. But its always nice to have a few plays in your back pocket. Also I think Rex burkhead can take any play you throw at him. Sweep, throw, catch hell probably even kick a field goal. But I my self am no expert at football. I was just pointing out what I have seen this season in terms of play calling. I don't think it takes a play calling guru to see that NU offensive plays got snuft out last Sat. OU made in game adjustments. Ofcourse new plays take pratice. I'm sure we'll see a lot new stuff next season.(I HOPE) And that's why having the I as an optional formation may be a good idea. And yes the zone read did become predictible and easy to defend.
  2. The I formation may not be the single answer to the offense's woes, but I have to agree it has been successful in the past. With the right combination of backs and recievers it could be an additional formation to the run game and right now variety of any kind wouldn't hurt. Passing plays can be called from the I, or even a split-back formation with the quarterback lining up under center as opposed to a shotgun formation. Variety is the key and we have the athletes to make this work (2 running back backfield with quarterback under center).
  3. Opinion based on facts.?.?. GENIUS!
  4. At this point since our "destiny" is literally out of our hands, as fans all we can do now is hope the Big Red Machine absolutely positively DESTROYS whoever we end up playing. EARN back some of that respect and if they don't give it to us, take it.
  5. Still shaking off yesterdays game. But being a Nebraska fan even today, is still better than being a (insert any other tem here) fan. GBR!

  6. Yea it's a standard cliche but I agree they have to get after it today. If that happens and the defense plays at the level their capable of, then we have a chance. I think the key is not to let O.U. get too far out in front early because they have a good defense also. Then they could just stuff/stack the box and play really aggreive against the run and that could make for a very long day for us.
  7. That's a great one and hard to beat. Maybe best is all of this "Big Red Love" goin' on right now. On target, fire for effect.
  8. That's not so scary. I didn't take the time to look it up (ass-unimg) but what are the stats before and after? I'm asking. My opinion exceptional players have made exceptional plays on poorly called plays.... excuse the "exceptionaly poor" grammer. The athletes are in Lincoln, and can compete with the best. A few dropped passes, blah-blah-blah. History is our best teacher, and in recent Husker football history there is only one common denominator, Watson.
  9. Hope everyone is 100% and everyone plays all game.. wait that's not possible. No excuses, no what if's, BIG RED, BIG PLAYS, BIG DAY, BIG RED WINS!
  10. IF THE ENEMY IS IN RANGE... SO ARE YOU!!!!!

  11. You're presuming that the rumors actually affect the team, or something about this game. Everyone citing this or that rumor is just guessing, and the team knows it. They're 99% focused on Oklahoma, and frankly they don't care about the rumors (because there are always rumors about something) and they don't care what we posit here on the internet. They care about what's going on in the locker room, and they have the full story. Mostly they just roll their eyes at this stuff, chuckle, and wonder who dreams some of it up. But not all rumors are as big as your star-to-be-or-already-is Quarterback leaving the team. And if a "rumor" is getting this much response on an internet thread, you know it's a topic of conversation behind closed doors at "N". So I can understand not replying to silly rumors or internet threads or "tweets", but this isn't you every day rumor.
  12. You might as well have ended it there. That's the whole problem with the e-mail, the rumors, and this thread. There are no facts. There are gossipy 'insiders' and a lot of allegations flying around about a person's character substantiated by the barest threads and snippets of behavior, never sourced and biased beyond belief. What I see is a kid who probably is arrogant as hell, but who fights to stay in games and plays through a lot of pain. He's also frustrated, experiencing some of the first setbacks of his young life. If he quits, he quits. And he'll be a quitter. If he stays and learns from these experiences, who maybe he'll be looked on differently in the coming years. On a similar note if there is/was any truth to any of this, why hasn't Bo, Martinez or his Dad come out with denials that he's not leaving and he's a Husker thru-and-thru? Wouldn't you want to squash all of this and move on to more real issues or concerns especially with the CCG and your bowl game approaching? I'm not sure about all of the who-can-speak-when rules, but I'm curious as to why no denial by anyone.?.?
  13. Bonus points and some award for "Farmageddon"! I say Iowa is a given for the new "border war rival". Then the others listed here, Ohio St, Penn St, Michigan, basically whoever else is fighting for top-dog. Insert those mentioned in the place of Tex-ass, Okie-homa, Okie-State. All are good choices. I find it hard not to want to beat the absolute holy $&!@ out of Ohio State every year though. I'm just tired of constantly hearing about the Buckeyes despite how good they are. They have to be beat.
