  1. While I appreciate the sacrifices that our servicemen make, I fail to see why their sacrifice gives them the right to treat people like crap and think it's okay. Because you're "men" and can say stuff that "would make most women break down and cry", acting like that doesn't make one a man or tough, it just makes them look like an ignorant douchebag IMO. A women does not need to earn respect by "throwing" a comeback, a woman, or anyone else for that matter, should get respect because they are a human. Why should someone have to earn the respect of people who act like a-holes? Why does anyone care what those type of people respect anyway? i served, and its not that its used as an excuse to treat people like crap. in fact, 99.9% of the time its a sign of affection. i had a first sergeant that used to say nothing will ever get done unless you use more cuss and derogatory words than the actual words of your order. the point 321 is trying to make is that with the stigma or whatever surrounding the equal treatment of women, treating everyone the same can actually come back and bite you in the ass if said woman gets upset at any point. people act like they want a level playing field, but its still slanted, and not the way you think. the reason a lot of women in the military are treated 'different' isnt because they are thought of as less of a soldier or what have you, its because they are a grenade with no pin. I've heard many abusive parents and husbands make the same arguments, "I only do it because I love her\them". Not saying this is always true, but in my experiences the people who resort to tactics like your sergeant are typically just not intelligent or dedicated enough to motivate people without using intimidation or holding their power over their head. And typically they are just passing down what has been dumped on them in the past. I grew up in that environment, and think that there are always better ways to accomplish things. The true measure of a persons integrity and honor is found in the way they treat those lower, or weaker than themselves is my experience. Dont know what you do for a living, but the bold statement has been true of every BOSS ive ever had, Male or Female!Pretty sure its the norm, and while i dont think its particularly right either, most of them feel its well within their rights as a boss to treat people whatever way they want. Unfortunately many of the weaker people you speak of Know they have the power to destroy your carrer, sue you, and otherwise ruin your life, and wont hesitate to use it, many times for VERY minor things. THATS intimidation from the other side as far as im concerned. The better way to deal with things IMO is face to face, using management/lawsuits only in serious cases where option 1 doesnt work. I am a IT Manager at a fairly large health system, I do manage people. And I beleive in the no a-hole rule fully, if you haven't read this book, it's a good read. http://bobsutton.typepad.com/my_weblog/the_no_asshole_rule/ And BTW...this video is funny, and rings true for many people. I see your point man . Thanks

  3. I like some Amber and Dark beers too. Dundee Honey Brown, Michelob Amber Bock (most of the Bock beers i tried were good IMO),Modelo Negro, New Castle Brown(Be careful, clear bottle makes it skunk easily!),Leinenkugels Creamy Dark, Fireside nut brown ETC. went on a mission to try new beers and made it through 50+. not a big Sam Adams fan , but S.A. Cherry Wheat is one of my favorite beers of any kind. Leinenkugels Berry Weiss, Spanish Peaks Honey Raspberry, and Blue Moon were some good fruity ones. Not a fan of Pale ale ,or any overly bitter beers. As i said avoid any beer in a clear or light colored bottle (especially imports) the get skunky fast.Dont go out a whole lot , but i would love to try some Micro brew beers at Old Chicago, Lazlos Etc.
  4. I don't think he is the right guy for the offense we run now, but I don't recall our 2003 Offensive line being so bad. I'm too lazy to look up stats though. Seems we're running a hybrid of option and the Corncoast right now. Maybe we just don't have the right combination of assistants/coordinator to be successful?? The reason you probably don't recall it is because he was our OC rather than our OL coach in 2003. PaulCrewe in a much more comical way hit the nail right square on the head. Unfortunately, Watson was saddled with Cotton and we're reaping the rewards. Anyone remember how disappointed they were with a defensive lineman named Suh prior to the 2008 season? Suh is a great example of poor coaching versus good coaching. I have thought that about Suh myself. Can you imagine if he would have been coached by Cosgrove for 2 more years? Would have been very detrimental to his career. He knew it too, he was on the verge of transferring to Oregon State before Pellini was hired.
  5. Oh yeah i would put Mike Stuntz in there ahead of Patrick and Joe too. Threw "THE" pass to Crouch against Oklahoma, and had that SMOKIN hot girlfriend who tutored Tommy Lee in Tommy goes to College. Thanks for the memories Mike.
  6. A long ass time. Fortunately, I've managed to scrub the Clownahan years from my memory. Solich was a blip. By that logic, I guess, I guess we got to wait, oh, about another 21 years for another NC. But that doesn't mean I hafta like going 10-4 and getting housed by a mediocre Washington team. Correct on all points. IMO
  7. Also keep in perspective T.O. was playing for National Championships too. There may have been grumbling but that got passed because T.O. could make to the top and capable. Bo hasn't reached that. They knew what T.O. could do we don't know how good Bo will turn out to be. Now think about this. It took Bob Stoops two years to turn around Oklahoma to win a National Championship. Oklahoma was bad during the 90's. In neither one of those years mentioned would we have won the NC had we won the bowl game. We didn't even win the Big 8 outright until 1981, and we were a three loss team that year. It wasn't until TO's 11th season that we played for a NC. Another thing to think about is that TO inherited a NC calibur team while Bo inherited the mess Clownahan left. I'm not exactly sure how you can say we knew what TO could do but we don't know how good Bo will turn out. TO thought about leaving Nebraska after he'd coached more years here than BO has coached so far. In all reality if TO would have started coaching at Nebraska thirty or so years later than he did he would have been fired. Very good post. Agree on all points junior .
  8. 1. Crouch - by a large margin IMO.If a big play was needed in a big game, through the air or on the ground theres nobody on this list i would give the ball to over him. Awesome NFL career too! 2. Zach Taylor - Best pure passer we have had in the past 10 years and maybe ever. Loved watching him pick defenses apart. Tough as nails too! I went to the Wake Forest game and he was taking hits you could hear in the 35th row. i have no idea how he kept getting up. 3. Ganz - Not the most talented, but a good leader and hard worker. Good feet, and a decent arm. His work in the film-room gave him very good command of the offense. 4. Jammal Lord - GREAT runner, but probably one of the worst passers on the list. Nobody remembers the 3 step drop then gun the ball straight into the ground 15yds away from the receiver? I still cringe when i think about it. Interesting too that he graduated with a degree in communications, since he struggled to put a sentence together in most of his press conferences. 5.Taylor Martinez - ran the Zone read like a mofo for 5 games or so then pee'd himself when that didnt work any more. When not under pressure had a reasonably accurate arm. Just not ready yet. May end up higher. 6 Keller - kind of a primadonna, but another very good pure drop back passer. Didnt play on a good team, got injured, and was only on the field for 1 year. hard to rank him much higher without seeing more. 7. Cody Green - Getting jerked in and out of bad situations messed him up a bit. Not the super running threat i thought he was, but good enough to get positive yds on the correct plays. Think he has strong leadership qualities/work ethic, and if given the reigns he could command an above average offense. 8. Zach Lee - I admire his heart, but not much more. Average passer, good leader, BAD runner.(straight forward til you hit something then fall down, not my favorite)Good game against Arizona made people forget some earlier bad stuff. 9. Patrick Witt - Didnt play much, but was still better than Joe Dailey 10. Joe Dailey - You are the weakest link Goodbye!
  9. Ha ha i was 17 and i screamed at the TV when i heard they were going for 2. NOOOOOOOOOOOO!
  10. Ask your mother, or your sister, or your girlfriend or wife. Ask any female who's had this crap pulled on them, then get back to me. And read the article. It wasn't just "two words," it's a pattern of behavior dating back years with this guy. Mom (R.I.P) worked back in the 60s & 70s when discrimination was much worse. there were only certain jobs a woman could get, and her opinions were dismissed by the "Good old boys" regularly. Im glad they fixed things like that, but i think we have probably gone too far today. She probably would have been flattered to be called Sweetcakes anyway LOL, and if she wasnt she would have taken care of it right there. She was a smart, strong woman, and a snappy comeback or mild ass-chewing would have been her weapon of choice. As far as my daughter, wife etc.. i would definitely encourage them to stand up for themselves, but i would also encourage them to be VERY sure about what they were doing as far as ruining someone elses career/life.
  11. Wake up. This isn't 1965. It's not like people don't know it's ignorant to call a colleague by a deprecating name, ESPECIALLY when it's gender-related. Cunningham is a grownup. He knows very well that discrimination has no place at the office. In fact, he was warned about it a few years back when he did it to someone else. If he can't control himself, management has an obligation - by federal law - to control him. Thats for your correction AGAIN, but i was right in the first place. FAR to big of deal was made of this!! I know what the stupid rules are, and it sickens me how far out away from any common sense we have come. not just on this issue. Go educate yourself. You're wrong before, you're wrong now, and you'll continue to be wrong as long as you think discriminating against women is OK. Yeah your condscending, knappic is always right, crap will sure change a lot of minds, probably not mine. this was 2 WORDS! how far do you think it should go? If you look at them in a way they dont like, or walk too close to them. Way too far. Never said discrimination was OK just wondering how bad 2 words can really hurt.

  13. Unfortunately the wussification of our society has caused things like this to be a big deal when its really not. Instead of crying to management,(a RAMPANT problem these days!) she should have shot him down with a snappy comeback, and called it good. Firing him and possibly ruining a 35 yr career over something like this is ridiculous. It should have to go FAR beyond what it did to even consider that.
  14. Sadly I honestly don't see a ton of changes. Bo always preaches execution and pins poor performances on a lack of execution IMO I think he is more concerned with that than with the scheme. I hope to see some screen passes and hopefully we can find a wide receiver that can make plays to take the pressure off our running game. Do any of the young receivers show any promise? I see we only have one WR recruit thus far for 2011. Yeah we still have Kinnie, Kyler Reed (TE) was our most solid guy this year IMO , and coaches seem to like Enunya? and Bell
  15. I agree. I dont think we will be strong at the QB spot whatever we do.Hopefully they put the best game manager in there and turn our good stable of running backs loose.
  16. Yeah i think so too. I think we would be better with a system that doesnt rely so heavily on the QB.
  17. Lots of discussion about offense i was thinking, With the current players we have what do all the armchair OCs think we Can, not what we want, to run. My thoughts. 1. Spread style. This takes a good descision maker, quick thinker, defense reader etc at Qb. Also have to have a QB who is a true dual threat Runner/passer. Not thinkin TM , or CG is our guy, maybe one of the new guys. Also need solid receivers, not sure who they would be. 2. Option. I think TM might actually do well in this style, but he would get hit a lot and dont know if he could take that all season.CG could probably run it but not to his strengths.Again maybe a new guy could? Dont think the receivers/and O line are up to it either. 3. West coast/pro style. I actually somewhat enjoyed this style, Zach Taylor was pretty good at picking apart defenses, moving down the field, and scoring in a hurry. loved the fade route in the end zone to Purify too. Unless an act of God takes place, and Bubba actually shows up, i dont see any of our QBs running that style. Also need quite a few more good receivers, and different type of O linemen to run this. 4. Smashmouth style. With Burkhead, and Robinson here and 2 more 4 star RBs coming in, i could see this working. Any of our QBs would fit, and if one went down the wheels wouldnt come off. O line might be better concentrating on pancaking the guy in from of them. Control the clock and beat em down in the 4th quarter. Im sure there are more styles, or combinations thereof, than what i said, just thinking about the offensive identity we all want.Really would be better to run what we CAN more than what we want. I would say 1 or 4 is our best option.
  18. I loved that 94 game, but the same type of Offense, (minus the Fullback but plus a Heisman QB) did poorly against the 2002 Miami defense (i thought they were slightly better than 94) in the Rose Bowl. I dont think its necessarily the style of offense that wins or loses, but being able to execute whatever system you run at a high level.
  19. I watched the whole game, and Wisconsin would have won by 2 TDs if they would have stuck with the power game!
  20. The main problem was that Wisconsin tried to get cute with pass plays and running to the sideline, when "up the gut" was there ALL DAY! Why in the world didnt they use their huge OL and 250 lb RB to pound TCU.By the 4th quarter TCUs defense would have been gassesd just like the old Husker Pipeline days. Wisconsin should have been ahead by a couple of TDs and no 2 point conversion would have been needed.
  21. Thats one of the main reasons i like him.
  22. I HIGHLY doubt that a decision will be made base on what "Everybody" thinks, so there's nothing to get. Bo will decide what he thinks is right based on his evaluation of the situation. Thats what he gets paid lots of money to do.
