  1. Washington wanted it. Nebraska didn't. It's that simple.
  2. I wanted to believe in T-Magic, but the only magic I've seen from him lately is the disappearing act he does when the game gets difficult. Taylor Martinez isn't the answer, neither is Cody Green, and Zac Lee is out of the picture now. I'm banking on the hope that we get Bubba Starling and a coach that can actually develop him as a player beyond a high school level.
  3. I once remember Bo Pelini saying that we have three quarterbacks that can play at a high level. Let's be clear: we have NO quarterbacks that can play at any level.
  4. This team sucks. That's all that needs to be said.
  5. Somebody wants him for a head coach? Considering that Kevin Cosgrove got a job as a defensive coordinator at Wisconsin and Minnesota, I've stopped questioning the infinite nature of human stupidity.
  6. Try telling the team that. I think they'd beg to differ.
  7. This team simply does not care. They have the same attitude as the fans. I heard one of the commentators mention that Watson is in the running for the Miami (OH) head coaching job. Best of luck to you, Shawn, I hope you get it.
  8. Three reasons: 1): Losing to Texas 2): Losing to Texas 3): Losing to Texas But seriously, this year was supposed to be the year for us to really give the Big XII the Big Middle Finger. We looked like a juggernaut prior to the Texas game, we were playing what would (although we didn't know it at the time) wind up being pretty much the worst team in the Big XII, and we were playing them at home. To me, that game set the tone for a lot of the season. We thought we were back in the thick of things, then came the Texas A&M game. Yeah, half the penalties were bogus, but that doesn't change the fact that our offense (or should I say our kicker?) scored a measly 6 points. In the Big XII Championship, we jumped out to a three-score lead early. We didn't have the penalties. We didn't have the dropped passes. We had the turnovers. We watched a 17-point lead melt down into a tie by the end of the first half, and did next to nothing in the second half. I guess to sum it up, it was a let down because Nebraska didn't get beaten by superior teams, Nebraska got beaten by Nebraska.
  9. Thanks! You guys will dominate the Big XII North now, and if it comes down to you guys vs. Oklahoma or Texas, I'll root for Mizzou.
  10. My only concern is accusations of Nebraska running up the score on Washington.
  11. Starling has to decide he's not going to MLB before we can put him on the depth chart, guys.
  12. Not even close. Both Taylor and Nebraska could benefit from a move to WR. IMO Martinez is a lot faster than Kerry Meier and a better QB however Meir wouldn't have been drafted had he stayed at QB and neither will Martinez. If Barnes can throw the ball he could win the starting job. I'd rather have Martinez at WR than the bench. I'm not saying I don't want Taylor Martinez at WR, I'm saying that I don't think that Taylor Martinez wants Taylor Martinez at WR. If the coaches are sure that we have a better QB on the depth chart than Taylor and they can talk him into playing the position, then I say go for it. Taylor came to Nebraska to be a QB though, so I don't see convincing him to play WR being an easy task.
  13. But it never gets Chilly in Miami. I 'd. At worst, this is the token "we'll keep your name on file when you're looking for a new coaching venue" interview. More than likely, it's just another cog in the rumor mill.
  14. Trying to talk Taylor Martinez into playing WR is like trying to teach a pig to sing.
  15. That's a good point. Aaron Graham was only 280-something if I remember right, and he's one of the best centers ever to play at Nebraska.
  16. Does the Husker Track and Field Team count? Only if the UNK marching band counts.
  17. It's not hard to have good offensive numbers when you've played against some of the defenses we've played against. Remember how Zac Lee looked before Nebraska started conference play last year? What I want to know is, how would we rank nationally if our offensive numbers against Texas, Texas A&M, and Oklahoma were average for Nebraska this year? I am fine with the defense of Taylor Martinez, because if you look at last year then look at this year, it's clear that Taylor was the biggest reason why we thought we saw a better offense this year.
  18. Sure, it's a lapse of judgment that we've all had, but how many of us were starters for the Husker football team? I know it's hard, but these kids have to realize they're representing something greater than themselves. This isn't one of those deals where close friends will get a good laugh and say "what an idiot" about it. Not very many kids end up with their name in a press release when they get a DUI.
  19. He got fined 15 dimes for the hit, even though it was legit. No Fun League I saw that... what a joke. Since when was shoving a ball carrier to the ground an illegal hit? He didn't even touch Cutler's helmet.
  20. YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!! Leach will be a HC or nothing - plus his style would clash with Bo. Urban on the other hand - spread guru, recruiting genius in Florida. We could get him 3 naked blonds to help him relieve stress daily - whatever it would take. Bo/Urban on the same team..?..look out dynasty. I'll learn how to recruit and run an offense if you can get me three naked blonds daily. I'd be happy with one girl: the one in Chris's avatar.
  21. It's an interesting concept... Urban would definitely have a lot less stress as an O.C. than he would as a head coach.
  22. You really think, let's replace Nebraska with A&M for this one, Nebraska vs. LSU in the Cotton Bown is the same as the Texas Bowl vs. Illinois or the Pinstripe Bown against Syracuse? To me, it's not that big of a difference. It sounds a lot different due to the quality of the opponent, but the end result's mostly the same. Maybe it's partly just sour grapes over my expectations ultimately not being met this year, but I just can't get excited about bowl season this year. The difference between playing LSU in the Cotton Bowl and playing Syracuse in the Pinstripe Bowl, for me, would be "at least it'll be a good game" versus "at least we'll be able to give our second string players some playing time in the second half".
