  1. Just saying I am glad we are in the final 4 and that we might be in his final 2 according to your observations. What? You didn't get all that from very cool?
  2. The recruiting disadvantage that I am thinking of is within the conference itself. East coast schools would have a decided advantage over Creighton as they would be recruiting local players that could be seen more easily locally, whereas Creighton would continue to have to draw nationally. While the conference will be a draw, they will need to up their level of recruiting. Creighton had some of the best facilities in the MVC which was a recruiting advantage. That advantage would shrink against some of these other schools. I'm just saying be careful what you wish for.
  3. Hope Coach Miles gets a lot more time to spend with his Dad. Also hope the best for Coach Harriman and his family. Job should come second to family. I hope those guys realize that.
  4. I think adding some point guards out of the Biggs/Hawkins/Webster group will really help next year. Also, I think between Hawkins and Webster one of those guys will split time with Gallegos. I believe this will help Gallegos. Fuller can launch it too from the wing as well so with the addition of those 3, I think Gallegos won't have to force it up so much. Some of our guys were dead dog tired in that game at the end and it showed.
  5. I am not a Creighton fan however I will offer them so advice. Don't do it. I think it would be a mistake for them to join the Big East. Different culture, too much travel and a recruiting disadvantage. Their dead money sitting at that table. On the flip side this could help Nebraska when they go on their losing streak. Needs to be pointed out though that how the B1G re-aligns the conference could put Nebraska in the same boat. So I will hold off on any other comments of doom....
  6. I am a hack so I need an easy club to hit... My swing speed is definitely slowing down. So it sounds like the majority of you guys support a switch and that I should try a 3 & 4 to start with first, so I will try that. Thanks for the responses. I appreciate it, more importantly the players on other fairways will appreciate it even more. Hahaha. Just kidding.
  7. Defense will get a lot of attention this spring due to the youth. I hope he simplifies things a bit so that the kids can play fast. I know he has said he intends to 'simplfy' it with a different presentation/way of teaching, but I actually think they should cut the schemes down if it's too much. I know they have said they want some of these kids to learn multiple positions, but I don't think that's the greatest idea for young players....my 2 cents I guess.
  8. A real life Keyser Söze! Guy's deadly. I like this guy. Hope we get him
  9. Does Creighton have reading comprehension programs? Just kidding. (I'm not the guy that should be pointing that out.) Nice post Nu-Bo those are very good points.
  10. He's shooting off his back foot and his shoulder are tilted. I think he is going to hit Cheney.
  11. We return 5 of the top 7 in the OL rotation. We lost a guard and a center. We return the 3 guys that were in the rotation at OT last year so that looks solid. One of those guys may play guard. We are also bringing in a Juco OT that may play and we have a young sophomore that may get time. I think we have good depth and decent play at OT. They are better at run blocking than pass pro. For guards we lose Choi but still have 2nd team all american Long. Pensick played really well at guard and will be the starter there if he is not needed to play center. (Or if one of the young up-coming guards stands out then Pensick will probably slide over to center.) We have nice talent that will contend in Cotton, Reeves, Moudy and Chongo. Nickens is a walkon that could surprise. So it depends a bit on how they do as to where Pensick plays. Center is a bit of an unknown as there are not as many options. We lost Jackson. Pensick did a good job replacing him. Pensick could do a good job there, but they really like him at guard. Pensick prefers center though. Thurston is a young scholarship player that will get a look. Chongo the Juco will get a look. Watch out for him as he gives us something a little different there if it works out. Pelini is a solid backup. Price is a young guy who is versatile that deserves mention. Not sure where he will play. I think he played some at tackle last year. All in all the entire group is pretty good at run blocking. Pass pro is average. I think Adam will like our pitch plays. That will be right down his alley.
  12. +1. Agree. Lots of new players that we haven't seen will have to contribute next year. Just worried that it will be cold and the walkups will be down.
  13. Got to keep getting better even if it's little by little. It's all about pitching. Got to get more pitching.
  14. I was shocked to see L. Bell run that fast. Rex didn't show that well in the 40 but the film doesn't lie. He runs just as fast with pads as without and is quick. He's going to be a steal. He's a complete back. Catch, block, inside & outside runs. Gets north south. He will be fine.
  15. Looks like I should of stayed with my original guess 4.62
  16. Getting close to where they will work out RB's and we will see Rex. I see that shoelace tied for 7th in the 40 among W's. So their's 8 guys that run faster than Hussein Bolt (according to michigan fans) Times are faster than normal it seems to be. I am going to have to revise my guess for Rex up to 4.55
  17. It's too bad we can't recruit Texas anymore... Oh wait.... the Texas Offensive Player of the year in 5A just happens to be a Husker! Congrats Mr Taylor! I like 'em both. They are cake & ice cream. They will be great together. Taylor is cake and Newby is ice cream. Newby will freeze you in your tracks with his moves & speed. Taylor will do cake walks to the endzone with his power & speed.
  18. I think this is an impressive win for Nebraska myself. Iowa is rebuilding as well BUT their program is in their 3rd year while ours is in the first & with a short roster. I really like what the staff is doing and how the players are playing overall. Players are playing to their strengths. I commend the players for their effort. I thought they had given up in that first half, but I was wrong. Hat's off to them. I can't wait to add in next years players and play in the new arena. I am thinking Hawkins will be kind of like Talley in that he can give you a big ball handler that can shoot. Biggs will be a really nice addition as he can break you down. He gives us a little more size than Benny. I think Benny can redshirt and put on some muscle. Webster is another guy who can handle the ball and has very good size. He can also play the 2 with Gallegos as he is a high% bomber. Petteway is going to be a really fun player and I think could be used in any wing spot. I think he and Shields are very similar in their game. Petteway is probably more athletic but Shields is probably a little better shooter. Fuller is a great shooter. Pitchford is going to be a bit different than Ubel & Andre in that he is more of a face up athlete. He will bring something new to Nebraska that we haven't had since Mikki Moore. If we can fill the last 1 or 2 spots with size to defend & rebound, this team will make a huge leap forward. I think Serge should redshirt.
  19. I wonder how much this will hurt attendance. Guess we shall see. (I am all for showing it, although I think it would be better tape delayed.)
  20. Big guy come on down to Lincoln! Join up with the new firepower that will be here next year!
  21. Getting the leadoff hitter on is always big.
