Johnson adds two more offers

By John Talman, Recruiting Analyst – Rivals.com

Four-star safety prospect Victor Johnson is keeping things quiet this summer.

The 6-foot, 170-pounder hasn't had problems picking up scholarship offers with his two most recent coming in from Miami and Nebraska. Baylor, Houston, Oklahoma State, and Texas Tech are the others that have arrived. So far, Johnson says he's not naming favorites until he gets on some visits.

"I haven't really visited many schools yet, so I can't really say which ones I like the most," Johnson said. "Until I do that, I can't say 'well I like this school more than this one.'"

Johnson says the two recent offers caught his eye.

"I had kind of expected one from Miami, but I didn't think they'd offer this early," Johnson said. "I've liked that school since I was a young kid. I like the way Nebraska plays defense. I do like both of those schools."

The one school that Johnson did recently visit was Oklahoma State. The nation's No. 16 safety prospect took an unofficial visit to check out the campus in June.

"I just went there to check things out and get a good look at their campus," Johnson said. "It's real nice down there with their facilities and the school. I liked it there."

Johnson says he'll more than likely wait until the season to take any more visits. As for when he'd like to choose a school, he'll probably wait until after this fall.

"I want to get everything straight school-wise before I get into everything else," Johnson said. "I'm going to re-take the SAT coming up. My grades are up there, so that should really help me for the next time I take it. I should do pretty well."

As a junior, Johnson had 86 tackles and five interceptions.
