BigRedWeatherman
leading top candidate for replacing Callahan. I think he would be a great fit, with Nebraska ties and a strong defensive work ethic, he could be just what we need! Quote Link to comment

K0rnHusker
I believe this has been talked about on this forum before and most think he is to old and he has been quoted as saying he is very happy at Tampa and has no plans to change. Quote Link to comment

He would have brought his son, and kept Pelini. Quote Link to comment
huskersrule95
I think he would have been a good option earlier in his career but he is 67 years old right now so I really dont know if we want someone that will only be here a few years. I think we need a younger guy to be the HC. Quote Link to comment
BigRedWeatherman
Seriously, check him out! He is a top defensive coordinator in the NFL. He has produced some stellar defenses in the past. He is from Nebraska originally (not sure if he actually went to NU though) His contract is up at the end of this year, so a Head coaching job would fit him well. I am a big Bucs fan so I might be a little biased, but I think he would be a great fit for us. Just hope Callahan didn't ruin the taking someone from the pros aspect for us! Quote Link to comment
strigori
No thanks. He hasnt been in the college game in about 20 years. He may be great at defensive schemes, but there is a reason why he hasnt been a HC since 1983. Quote Link to comment
BigRedWeatherman
True he is old, but he knows his stuff. With his credentials, I'm sure he could bring in a great bunch of assistants which he could groom one to take the reins! Just a thought! Quote Link to comment

Husker Deb
I'm just dreaming here but maybe he'd (M.Kiffin) be head coach long enough to get everything rolling in the right direction again (say 6 years) and then have his OC Turner Gill become Head Coach! Sound good to anyone? Remember it's only a dream....... Quote Link to comment
BigRedWeatherman
Huker Deb and baphamet- I like how we think! He could definitely do just that- coach for 4-6 years and get someone else setup to take over a rejuvenated program! Quote Link to comment
California Husker
Look, if we are going to go with a guy that is that old...I know another old guy who isn't coaching anywhere right now. Dr. Tom! Quote Link to comment

BigRedWeatherman
I'm sure if T.O. wanted to coach again he would have said at the press conference that he will search for a new coach and also think about throwing his hat in the ring. That way he would get recruits ears to perk up throughout the nation! Quote Link to comment
