PowerofRed#1
Guys, Erstad would be better as a baseball coach. I mean #1 overall in the b-ball draft. Does anyone know if any NFL teams were looking at him? I would love to see him coaching 3rd base instead of the kicking game. Quote Link to comment
hastingshusker
It does sound like they are throwing names out there. However, Peter Gammons is a Hall of Fame Baseball writer and he doesnt just throw things out there for no reason. I give him more credence then the football reporters they have running around at ESPN. Quote Link to comment
huskerjack23
Gammons did have a stroke recently. Quote Link to comment
hastingshusker
Gammons did have a stroke recently. In like April. What does that have to do with anything? Quote Link to comment
Dan_F_30
Gammons is probably the most credible reporter that ESPN has. Quote Link to comment
huskerbatt52
Peter Gammons is on the $20 bill. Quote Link to comment

There have been a ton of former Husker names thrown in lately. I think they all want to help in some way. But it doesnt mean they would do a great job b/c they wore the jersey. All I'm saying... (And not a knock on Gammons either) Quote Link to comment
T_O_Bull
I always thought Erstad was the unofficial MVP of the '95 Orange Bowl. His punts kept Miami pinned back and got us out of some troublesome situations. Is there any reason he couldn't coach both punters and baseball? Seems logical to me. >>>T_O_B Quote Link to comment
rawhide-jr
Erstad is a heck of a baseball player, probably one of the best... The only reason he's not doing so well now is due to injuries from selling out to catch and hit every ball... that guy has more heart than anyone else in baseball. Quote Link to comment
