huskernumerouno
How to use the rebate As you may have heard the Bush Administration said each and every one of us would now get a nice rebate. If we spend that money at Wal-Mart, all the money will go to China. If we spend it on gasoline it will all go to the Arabs, if we purchase a computer it will all go to India, if we purchase fruit and vegetables it will all go to Mexico, Honduras, and Guatamala, if we purchase a good car it will all go to Japan, if we purchase useless crap it will all go to Taiwan and none of it will help the American economy. We need to keep that money here in America, so the only way to keep that money here at home is to buy prostitutes and beer, since those are the only businesses still in the US Quote Link to comment

We just had our taxes done this evening and our tax lady (prior IRS employee) said the rebate checks are NOT taxable. They're not advancements on next years taxes either. She said the way the law was setup, these are tax-free rebates. Anyone heard anything else about this? Quote Link to comment

If next year you file and won't cover the advance, you don't owe. http://articles.moneycentral.msn.com/Taxes...TaxRebates.aspx Quote Link to comment
T_O_Bull
F-It take your check and buy domestic beer or Kentucky bourban. Get happy and stop b-itchin. We need a world economy. It will hurt us but, we are top dog and a little hurt is required. The way to defeat all of our enemies is to show the people how good it can be. >>>T_O_ Quote Link to comment

bennychico11
friggin' rebate checks. I'm not one to usually turn down free money...but I think this is an idiotic, last ditch effort to look good by the administration that's not going to help a single thing.
