Vuren
Of course, sometimes they are wrong: Two talented wide receivers, Kraig Appleton (East St. Louis, Ill.) and Stedman Bailey (Miramar, Fla.), were also in Madison over the weekend. Neither has selected a college to this point, but it is not going to be easy for Wisconsin or anyone else to beat out Illinois for the services of Appleton. Zookster is a slimeball. If he sets his sights on a recruit from in-state, he likely will not miss. how is he a slimeball? Zook is Urban Meyer-esque in his approach. His does what needs to be done to close a recruit, even if he stretches the truth or bashes other schools to get it done. I've heard other stories about his approach, but those are complete rumors. he is an effective coach and recruiter.....say what you will, he gets it done and is putting Illinois on the map. the win now atmosphere makes it hard to be a gentle man as a coach, hell dr tom even talks about that. Danimal
Zook's bread and butter is recruiting, if it got down to coaching he'd be out of a job, Illinois dropped to .500 and he is still getting love from 4*'s. Quote Link to comment
