Red Storm Brewing
So Mr. Brooks finally catches a pass that meant something. Congrats, it's good to see. Now the question is does Chris continue this trend by busting his butt in practice and become a contributor for the rest of this year, or did Chris get his moment in the sun this season due to Holt's injury and we start talking about if he can produce next year to replace Todd and Nate? Personally I'd love to see the kid live up to all the hype and potential he had coming out of St. Louis those four years ago. Here's hoping to more contribution Mr. Brooks. PS I was honestly shocked to hell that you hung onto that ball, so I owe you mad props. Quote Link to comment
BIGREDFAN_in_OMAHA
Agreed. I hope Brooks is finally stepping out of the shadows and that was the first of many TD catches. Quote Link to comment
captain obvious
Purify didn't start to catch on until late in his Junior year... Quote Link to comment
huskerswrkhavoc
Purify didn't start to catch on until late in his Junior year... Purify was also a Juco who didn't join the team until his junior year.... (ie, brooks was year a year before Purify.) Quote Link to comment

Some guys take time to grow into their role. Quote Link to comment
huskerswrkhavoc
that makes no sense.. so it took purify a whopping 7 games to finally become proficient in the offense? as opposed to chris brooks who has been here since the 05-06 season? not quite understanding the comparison there. captain obvious
Brooks has barely even sniffed the field in his career. Chill the f#*k out, dude, I wasn't even attacking you in that other thread. Quote Link to comment
huskerswrkhavoc
there is a reason for that... coaches do what they do for a reason. this thread has nothing to do with the other one. no need to bring it into this one. my response to you here would be the same no matter what. i don't see the correlation between the two. maybe i'm the only one... but it doesn't make sense. captain obvious
Christ almighty man. He's got plenty of time left to contribute. Quote Link to comment
shagg
heard it before that at times in practice he's almost unstopable...think the main problem is consistency....haven't been given a chance very much if at all during game....could be one of those players that turns on the light switch on game day...good to see he's finally getting a chance to be out there Quote Link to comment
Captain K
Had his hands the wrong way like he was catching a baby thrown from a window (nothing beats baby throwing, by the way). Can't stay on your feet when you do that. He didn't. Maybe poor receiving skills are to blame for his lack of minutes. Was surprised he held on. Saw Swift do the same thing on the onside kick, which led the ref to say, "first down Kansas!" That was surprising. Was happy for him (Brooks) though. Quote Link to comment
