Bo's Bowl Performances as head coach.

Recommended Posts

He did not embarrass us ALL, maybe just you. I was quite proud how he rallied the team in the face of adversity. Some of us even liked the fire. If you watched bowl games last year with interim head coaches (there were a lot), one, maybe two, interim coaches got that "W" -- that made me appreciate what he did in 2003 all the more.

Besides, he couldn't have embarrassed everyone because I do believe their were chants from Nebraska fans during and after the game in favor of hiring him.

Yes... saying he embarrassed "us all" is hyperbole on my part. I didn't see much team rallying going on there. That W goes to Frank Solich imo.

Besides, all I am trying to do is recognize that he is completely ready for the job now and wasn't then.

i can agree Solich deserves a lot of credit for the win, off the record of course......

at the time i was pissed that Solich was fired, and I thought that Pelini should've been hired then, i can understand why he wasn't.... He imo was qualified, but like someone else said he was even better qualified when he was hired.

I was very disappointed in Bo's performance and conduct last time he head coached NU in a bowl game. He embarrassed us all that night with childish behavior and lack of leadership. I was not disappointed when he was not selected as HC to replace Solich... hindsight is 20/20 eh? :-)

I just want to say how impressed I was with him today. He's come a LONG LONG way since then. He and his staff and his players have done an amazing job this season. I'm really proud to wear my Husker gear around Oklahoma City again. I greatly look forward to the day when they kick some Sooner ass. :-)

Thanks to Bo for a great year!

yea he really "matured" i guess is the word you could use, it helped that Osborne settled him down a bit too.

I never stopped and never will. :)

Oh.. i never stopped. no way. Wear it with defiance.. even the night we got slaughtered by OU. I work with a lot of faculty members from OU and we were working that night and watching the game before/after and on breaks.. it was pretty humiliating, but they didn't go too hard on me. :-)

I got some new gear for Christmas. :-)

Have to call you out on this one blutch!

I remember getting into it with a Huskerboard member last year, who was spouting off about Missouri being so great. I posted that they should go become a Mizzou fan and I'd even buy them a shirt to start their Mizzou collection. (Actually got a warning from AR Husker for the exchange). Don't know if the person was you, but I do know you PM'd me and asked if I would get you a Missouri shirt. I said yes (because I posted that I would - actually thought that would be the end of you) and checked with the Missouri bookstore, and found out that they had three colors of shirt - black, grey or gold. I asked what color you wanted and you said, and I quote "Gold then. I'm all about Mizzou football now. My new favorite team. :-)"

That new gear you got for Christmas. You don't mention what school it's from. Hmmmm.

P.S. I'm still pissed about the Missouri bookstore emailing me everyday about their junk. The personal notes from Gary Stinkel aren't my favorites either.

You got it wrong a little there.. I live in Oklahoma City. I am an NU alum. I work regularly with DOZENS of OU faculty and OU alums. All my neighbors are rabid OU fans. I wear at least a Husker cap every day. Most are very gracious about it, but sometimes I take some crap... like after this year's match up. groan.

I root for two teams every week. NU and whoever is playing OU. I was super impressed with Missouri last year and was rooting for them when they played OU. You offered a shirt and I wore it to work the week OU played them. I am very grateful you followed up on that offer and it really got to some of the OU fans... others just laughed their butts off. I don't even remember who won that game off the top of my head. :-) I always root for the Big 12 North over the South.

Sorry about the bookstore bugging you. Thanks again for the shirt. I only wore it that week... haven't since. Had I been home, I woulda worn it for their bowl game. I rooted for them then too. Bowl games I'm all about the big 12. I might even root for OU on the 8th.... as tough as that might be. My kids went to high school with Sam Bradford. Impressive guy all around.

I was not clear earlier and was misunderstood. I always have worn Husker gear here proudly. I'm just pleased as could be that we are back on track and looking like the great program we were in the past.
