Oklahoma Husker
Anybody going to any of these games?...I'm going to today's game...I would go to the rest but I have a baseball tourney of my own so... Quote Link to comment
formerfan
Top of the 8th, NU down 2-0. Duensing is pitching very well, but NUs O is absolutely stagnant. They have had the leadoff hitter on in 5 of 7 innings, 2 bases loaded situations, and have got nothing, stranded 7 in scoring position. Bottom of 7th, runners on 1st and 3rd, Boyer taps back to the pitcher. Simo walks to load the bases, and Gordon (who is 0-3 at this point), taps back to pitcher for a 1-2-3 double play. 4-5-6 hitters are 0 for the night. They need to get a big hit from SOMEBODY, the O is absolutely awful, against a pitcher with a 4.46 ERA coming it. They're making this guy look like freakin' Roger Clemens. If they dont pull it out, it will probably stop them from getting a top 8 seed, and hosting a Super, if they make it that far. Quote Link to comment
kc_husker
NU just tied it at 2's with a runner on third and one out. You were saying former? Quote Link to comment
formerfan
I was saying that the boys have had trouble coming up with big hits all year. Wherle did well, but Adams (or was it Gerch) blew it behind him. 3 times this game that they have had a runner on 3rd w/ less than 2 outs, and they have stranded that guy everytime. They need to come up with clutch hits, or a sac fly . Quote Link to comment
formerfan
Just blew it. Jensen had 2-2 count on the 3rd out, walked him. Single, walk, single. 3 runs score. Im going to bed, peace. Quote Link to comment
Eric the Red
5-3...bases loaded Quote Link to comment
Pedro Guerrero
Leaving 13 runners on base isn't going to cut it. Hopefully they can come back against OU. Quote Link to comment
Eric the Red
Huskers Fall in Big 12 Tournament Opener Oklahoma City, Okla. – Carey Avent’s two-run RBI single in the top of the ninth broke a 2-all deadlock, as Texas Tech upset top-seeded Nebraska, 5-3, late Thursday evening at the Bricktown Ballpark. Avent’s two-out, two-run single past a diving Joe Simokaitis at short provided the Red Raiders with late-game heroics, as Texas Tech (34-23) will meet Missouri, a 7-6 winner over Oklahoma in 10 innings, Thursday evening. Texas Tech upsets top-seeded NU in Big 12 baseball opener OKLAHOMA CITY — Nebraska was presented with the Big 12 Conference regular-season baseball championship trophy prior to its opening game at the league tournament here Wednesday night. If the fourth-ranked Huskers want a second piece of hardware, they'll have to do it the hard way. Carey Avants' two-run single off NU closer Brett Jensen with two outs in the top of the ninth inning broke a 2-2 tie to fuel Texas Tech to a 5-3 opening-round victory over the top seed before 6,078 at Bricktown Ballpark. Huskers face Oklahoma today at 1pm. They'll have to do it the hard way through the losers bracket. Other scores: Baylor 2-1 over Kansas Oklahoma St. 10-4 over Texas Mizzouri 8-7 over Oklahoma Quote Link to comment

hoyamannn
DANG IT!!! Our offense is "offensive" more times than not! I don't care that we're the 4th ranked team in the nation, we're not going to the CWS this year if our offense doesn't start producing. We are not going to be able to rely on pitching the rest of the year. Our hitting is not good. Even situational, laying down a bunt, hitting to the right side w/a runner on 2nd, scoring a guy from 3rd w/a sac fly, the stuff NEVER SEEMS TO GET DONE! I hope I'm wrong and the O breaks thru and wins us some games, but I just don't see it happening. Quote Link to comment
Eric the Red
Game is now just getting underway. Rain delay in the previous game has slowed action. Quote Link to comment
