Recruit spurns NU, signs MLB deal

I belive Huskerhavock to be Coach Andersons son!

I believe you to be an idiot. Anderson's kids aren't in college.. Jesus.

And why? Because I've stated facts here? Jesus get over the fact that Anderson isn't getting fired this year and that the team was young. You just can't stand that there actually MIGHT be a reason that the team wasn't successful in 09 other than it being solely Anderson's fault... It's sickening. Since you're so intelligent and have all the answers, why don't you go ahead and bring out the REAL reasons of why we have been so raided by the draft lately 55? I mean.. You've seemed to know everything about the baseball team this year!

You have had you account suspended for seven days for your second violation of Board rules in your personal attack above.

A third violation will result in a permanent ban.

Didn’t Anderson come out and say he wasn’t going to over sign recruits just encase kids get drafted and don’t end up coming here? He said he didn’t think it was fair to the kids or something like that. So instead of having a Plan B to take the spot of Plan A he is stuck with nothing after Plan A gets drafted and doesn’t arrive on campus. Then he has to scrabble and bring in Plan D & E and ends up with years like he had this year. Seems like pretty stupid logic on his part, honorable and nice, but stupid if you ask me.

I would guess it's the same every where. I know I read that most scholarships handed out to baseball players are not full rides. That they are split up to try and cover as many players as they can. Lot of partials spread around. If that's the case, than the coaches should go ahead and offer as many kids as they think they have a real shot at, even if it looks good, that they will sign a minor league contract. You never know who might change his mind at the last second.

GBR!!!

Well, for some reason Texas doesn't seem to have much of a problem with players leaving for the pros. They always have a roster full of kids that should be long gone. explain to me how erik bird gets drafted and brandon workman and josh urban don't. My theory is that Augie pays better than most farm clubs and probably some pro teams. god i hate texas.

Um.... because Workman was a non draft eligible sophomore....And urban went in the 19th round... Bird was a senior... And UT loses people, but because of their location, its easier for them to keep borderline draft picks, and they have the ability to over sign because they know they will lose people in the draft.
