I still pronounce it HEY-loo soemtimes, even though it's supposedly more like Huh-LOO?

 

I remember the TV announcers for the VT game mentioned something about the pronunciation of his name, but don't recall what it was.

 

It's not a straightforward name to pronounce by any means.

Who cares? I have mispronounced tons of players' names before, including our own. It took me two years to figure out how Amukamura (sp?) was pronounced, and I used to say "HEY-loo" as well.

 

Took me awhile to get Ndamukong's name down, so I just always called him Suh until I could do it right.

 

I love his name though, simply for the pleasure it brings me to see sports analysts screw it up.

 

One of my favorites: "En-du-make-in"
