NamelessHusker
FieldTurf is putting the finishing touches on the turf in Memorial Stadium. The athletic department goal was to honor the tradition of Memorial Stadium in the early years of Coach Bob Devaney. Pictures of Memorial Stadium in the 1960s, prior to the turf being installed in 1970, showed that the grass was often mowed in the traditional way that created an alternating pattern. Associate Athletic Director Boyd Epley asked FieldTurf to emulate that natural grass look and that is exactly what FieldTurf accomplished. Nebraska is the only school in the country with this exact pattern of FieldTurf. There is no paint on the field; instead, the numbers, red N in the middle and letters in the end zone are sewn in place. Quote Link to comment
Huskerfan66
Very sharp and new look, and yet a great way to reflect the good old days! I love it, and can't wait to see the Big Red trample the bears in a month! Quote Link to comment
BigRedJake
I've never been a huge fan of turf fields, but that's the finest turf I've ever seen. Can't wait to see some bodies on it. Quote Link to comment

DaveH
Do they have any hi-res pictures? A couple of those would make a killer background on your favorite OS. Quote Link to comment

NamelessHusker
Do they have any hi-res pictures? A couple of those would make a killer background on your favorite OS. Let me see if a 1200 resolution is available. The only resolution they had on the huskers.com website was a 200 resoution but i found a way around that and was able to grab a 800 resolution from the site . If i find a 1200 x 768 resulotion, you want me to make you a photoshop of it by removing the huskers logo in the picture? Edit: I checked and all they have was a 800 x 600. I don't know if anyone would want these pictures, since there is still some parts of the field not done. Probably better to wait untill its done and packed in red Quote Link to comment

It won't be quite as good as a true 1280x1024 or anything else, but it will retain the original resolution at the higher size. Quote Link to comment
