RockyMountainOySker
Not going to lie, gameday in Madison is insane. City-wide, it's a much better experience than Lincoln. In Camp Randall it is at least comparable. Plus it's a fairly short drive (7-hours) so you can trip up there after a half-day on Friday and make it for a Saturday kick-off. Gameday at Camp Randall is great....Madison is an awesome time anytime of the year. Their student section is great as well...this is probably one of the only places that compares to gameday in Lincoln. You bet. Madison is a GREAT college town! I love their liberal thinking … concening beer drinking. Never been to UW Madison on gameday but I’ll bet it’s a blast. I've been to a couple games at Camp Randall and they are a blast. One game comes to mind as a kinda funny story. I saw Penn State-Wis in 2009. Wis ends up losing something like 46-3, but after leaving the stadium and finding a bar on State street, you would have thought they just accomplished one of the biggest upsets in school history. Fantastic college town, fantastic bar scene on State street.....every Husker I know would love the trip. Quote Link to comment
jnkyrdoff6
Just when I thought we couldn't play a more pastry laden schedule than our Sun Belt tour in '09 . . . now they're talking about adding Big Ten teams?! Wow. We'll be a laughingstock. Quote Link to comment
M I K E
Let's hope it happens, I want to party in Madison. Screw strength of schedule! Quote Link to comment
Husker N KC
We might be willing to do this if it didn't mean losing a home game that year. We have become dependent on getting our 7 home games which means we can't do 2 non-conference road games even if we want the income. Normally BCS games like this are a Home team take all profits, but pay for travel costs. That means if we lose a home game in 2012 we have no travel costs to Wisconsin, but lose over 2 million in profit from the lost home game. Not going to happen. 2 million is too big a number. Enhance
Just saw a blog post from Steve Sipple. Jeff Jamrog says that a 2012 and 2015 meeting will more than likely not happen. A quick follow-up to the Tuesday blog regarding Bret Bielema's tweet. "Also trying to lock up a home and home contest with Notre Dame or Nebraska for the future. (Home 2012 away 2015). Would be fun for WI fans," the Wisconsin head coach wrote. It probably won't happen, said Jeff Jamrog, Nebraska assistant athletic director for football. However, Jamrog said, Nebraska and Wisconsin have had discussions about perhaps playing games in the distant future, perhaps 2018 or 2019, although nothing has been finalized. In 2012, the Huskers have games scheduled Sept. 1 at home against Southern Miss and Sept. 8 at UCLA. In 2015, Nebraska has a Sept. 19 game scheduled at Miami and a Sept. 26 home game against Southern Miss. As I've said previously, no way I add Wisconsin to that mix. LINK Quote Link to comment
