Scott Parker flicked a beautiful one in for West Ham. Robert Green did not look good in goal, giving up the first one too easy. Frederic Piquionne should have made the score 3-2 when he headed one off the bar from just 2 yards out. Quote Link to comment

Street Novelist
Liverpool Draw 0-0 With Birmingham City http://videos.sapo.pt/RgaHy9K1tMLj6AWEuiQj superb goalkeeping by Reina kept the final sheet scoreless. Birmingham should have won the game easily. Torres still looks rusty with poor first touches. In the 19th minute, Torres took down Johnson inside the penalty box with his studs up, but no foul was called. In the 37th minute, Johnson returned the favor by taking down Torres inside the penalty box with the referee keeping his whistle in his pocket. Finally, in the 64th minute, Torres had a golden opportunity. Gerrard lofted one forward to the oncoming Torres who decided to shoot the ball at the near post which was blocked by the keeper. He should have crossed it as the keeper had him at a tight angle. In the 70th minute, Jerome had an opportunity to win it for Birmingham when Carr sent the ball in from the right but Jerome headed the ball wide of the goal (he had even beaten Reina). Street Novelist
Torres Targets Manchester United Game For Turnaround "It means everything to the fans," the striker told Match of the Day magazine. "We are the two most successful teams in England but it has not been nice for the Liverpool fans to watch Manchester United have so much success over recent years." "We have a great squad and a great manager and we really hope to give the fans a trophy this season, as well as beating Manchester United for them." "Beating Manchester United 4-1 on their own ground (in 2008) is practically unheard of," he said. "We went 1-0 down as well which made the victory that much more impressive. I scored the equalizer, and that has to be one of my favorite days wearing the Liverpool shirt." Roy Hodgson is expected to rest Torres in Thursday's Europa League game against Steaua Bucharest. Street Novelist
Valencia Out For Season With Ankle Injury Manchester United striker Antonio Valencia will miss the rest of the season due to an ankle injury picked up in last night's game against Rangers. Rangers defender Kirk Broadfoot slid into Valencia cleanly, winning the ball but trapping Valencia's ankle between the ground and the Scot's body, resulting in a nasty injury. “Well he [Valencia] has gone to hospital it looks as though it is a dislocation and a fracture which is a bad one that will keep him out for a long time,” Ferguson told reporters after the game. “He seemed to dig his toe in the turf but as soon as I saw the Rangers player waving we knew it was a bad one.” Quote Link to comment
Street Novelist
Barcelona Destroy Panathinaikos 5-1 http://videos.sapo.pt/vJ0TQzR9kUsDeCg7y46K Messi was outstanding (though he missed a pk in the 55th minute which looked half-assed), although Barca's defense looked shaky at times. This was Puyol's first game back from injury and it showed. He was spun around by Djibril Cisse in the 20th minute which led to the opening goal. Pique still has his head bandaged. He looked woozy coming down from a header and was substituted in the second half. You could see the black and blue around his eyes from the injury he incurred against Hercules last Saturday. Antonio Valencia suffered a nasty knock to his ankle and is likely out for the rest of the season. Quote Link to comment
