Street Novelist Posted September 22, 2010 Author Share Posted September 22, 2010 Ribery Injures Ankle In Win Over Hoffenheim Bayern Munich midfielder Franck Ribery picked up what looks to be a serious ankle injury in the 2-1 victory over Hoffenheim on Tuesday evening. The Frenchman was in the act of shooting when he turned his ankle 20 minutes into the second half, and required help to leave the field. A report on the Bayern Munich website reads that the 27-year-old has sustained ligament damage in his right ankle and that Ribery doesn't need to undergo surgery. Bojan was terrible. Bad first touches and misplaced passes saw Bojan substituted for Mascherano in the 70th minute. Pique came on for Puyol who re-injured himself (probably his left calf). Sir Alex Ferguson was present at the Mestalla on Wednesday evening to monitor Champions League opponents Valencia, who Manchester will be playing next week. Mignolet stood on the edge of the penalty box looking for the sideline referee to halt play, but the ref did nothing and Torres rolled a pass for Kuyt who shot it easily into the open net.
