Run defense??

Recommended Posts

If I heard right, Wisconsin's OL outweighed TCU's DL by like 30 or more pounds. One of the reasons the Big 10 has its reputation of being big and slow is because it is big and slow. Nebraska under TO didn't get really good until he did one thing, recruit speed. When we went away from the big slow cornfed defenders to the smaller blazing speedsters, we started winning championships. I'm not concerned at all putting up our fast defense against Big 10 offenses. The part of our defense I don't like is the bend but don't break. This basically allows offenses three to four yards per attempt running the ball. There were running backs that had pretty good days against us this year.

I personally see the strength of our D shifting back toward defending the run next year. The only guy we lose from the front 7 (If Crick stays) is Pierre Allen. We get Fisher, Compton, Whaley, Lavonte back, not to mention The Stache, Ankrah, Williams, Tmo, Steinkuhler, Randle and hopefully Crick. And we'll finally get to see Chase Rome.

The way I see it, this year's over, thank the lord. If the rush D blows again next year, then I'll start to worry.
