NUance
Top 20 Defensive CoordinatorsRivals article, Aug. 31, 2011 1. BUD FOSTER, VIRGINIA TECH 2. TOM BRADLEY, PENN STATE 3. JIM HEACOCK, OHIO STATE 4. ELLIS JOHNSON, SOUTH CAROLINA 5. GREG MATTISON, MICHIGAN ... 14. NORM PARKER, IOWA ... 19. CARL PELINI, NEBRASKA BUZZ: He probably doesn't get enough credit because the assumption is that his brother runs the Huskers' defense. But Carl is known best for some complex blitz schemes. Since the start of the 2009 season, just 12 of the Huskers' 28 foes have scored at least 17 points. LINK Nice to see that Rivals grudgingly included Carl this year. Quote Link to comment
Malth
lmao 19? They didn't give any love to Bo either in the HC rankings. f#*k off, Rivals. Quote Link to comment
jsneb83
I wonder how much it hurts Carl's ranking as a top defensive coordinator that he is in Bo's shadow. Quote Link to comment
NUance
I wonder how much it hurts Carl's ranking as a top defensive coordinator that he is in Bo's shadow. If Carl turned our D around after 2007 like he did under a different HC, well, I'd say there's no way he'd be outside the top 10 DCs on this list. As it is, it's impossible to judge how much credit to give Carl/Bo for the Blackshirts performance. Quote Link to comment
