n.e.husker
Nebraska's running backs coach offered a new one last week about his much-hyped trio of freshman I-backs, Ameer Abdullah, Braylon Heard and Aaron Green. They're like a good meal, Brown said, and you can't fully enjoy a meal until it's fully and properly cooked. The prep stage is complete, but the trio still needs some seasoning. Coaches know the speedy freshmen are capable of bringing new flavors to this Husker offense, but none received a significant number of reps against Tennessee-Chattanooga on Saturday. "They know they've got to be unselfish," Brown said. "They're all used to getting the ball a lot and scoring touchdowns. We've got three exceptional backs in this class. And we've got a fourth, named Rex Burkhead, who's awfully good. So it's a we-back mentality." http://www.omaha.com/article/20110904/BIGRED/709059914#modest-workload-for-freshmen-includes-three-back-alignment Quote Link to comment
NUance
It's a rare treat to have three incredibly talented backs in the same class. At this point it's hard to say who will emerge. Quote Link to comment
bshirt
It's a great problem to have with supremely talented young rbs everywhere. Quote Link to comment

bshirt
Yeah, that's a problem. Sure hope the Oline come around. They're young.......so there's a chance they will. Quote Link to comment
Foppa
Now if we could just get guys to open holes for them... If a tree falls in the forest...and no one is around...does it make a sound? Quote Link to comment
gamecocks
It would be nice to find a way to get some screen passes, flare passes, draws, or direct snaps to any of these guys to get them in the open field. I don't know how creative Beck will be with these guys, but they can open up a whole lot of options for the offense. 1 Quote Link to comment
BIGREDFAN_in_OMAHA
Its good to have the depth. I believe twice in the last decade Iowa has lost three RBs in a season. Quote Link to comment
