Spartness
I found some interesting information about their 2003 recruiting class in yesterday's OWH edition. According to Lee Barknecht (sp?), from an article in the Daily Oklahoman, OU's 2003 recruiting class has been a real bust. Of the 24 recruits, only 11 remain on the team, only two are starters, and only two are top reserves. You just never know for sure if a five, four or three star player is going to succeed at the college level. This perhaps can explain partially why OU is down this year. Quote Link to comment
NamelessHusker
OU is down not because of talent only, but coaching has something to do with it as well. Quote Link to comment
DJR313
OU also lost 10 players to the NFL last year. 8 Freshman on offense get lots of reps. It all adds up. Quote Link to comment
cubhusker23
Not to mention Stoops can credit his National Championship to John Blake. He won with all of his players and all of a sudden OU's had a huge drop off this season with Stoops' own recruits. That's why Blake's a stud and we should do everything in our power to keep him here (there have been rumors of Larry Coker, of Miami, trying to lure Blake to FL). Quote Link to comment
HSKRNOKC
Dont tell an ou fan that Stoops won with Blakes talent. They call Blake ,Boo. And ol Boo did nothing but run their program into the ground.Acording to the ou people. Glad they didnt want Boo. I thank god we got him. Quote Link to comment
