Eric the Red
The less V. Young has to run, the better Texas is going to get. How do you stop Texas????????? You can't Quote Link to comment
formerfan
At this point TT is getting it handed to them. Vince young is freaking awesome. B. Smith with a good arm. Funny, 3 of the top 4 qbs in the Big 12 are "dual threat" qbs: Young, Smith, and the dude from aTm (forgot his name). You could even throw ISUs qb as the 5th best. Quote Link to comment

Not surprising - a dual-threat quarterback is much tougher to defend in college than the pros. The pros tend to have speed at every defensive position and the ability to cover receivers one-on-one for the most part, leaving the remaining defenders free to cover running lanes if a quarterback takes off. There are exceptions to every rule, of course, with Michael Vick being the most obvious - but for the most part a "running" quarterback" (as opposed to a "mobile" quarterback who can avoid the rush, such as Donovan McNabb) can't have the kind of impact in the pros that they can in college where there will almost always be a few players on the defense that lack the speed or coverage ability to nullify the threat posed by a running quarterback. It does pay to be able to run when recievers are covered as well as designed draw plays. Quote Link to comment
