HuskerFanChuck
Gads I feel old... I haven't followed the wrestling scene for a while... my heyday was when you still had Hulk Hogan, Macho Man, Jesse, British Bulldogs, Andre the Giant, etc. etc. Was fun to watch, and back then, the secret hadn't been revealed about it not being real. While the questions were there, you never quiet knew for sure. Fun times. Always entertaining to watch, regardless. I remember some cartoon they even made with those stars as the main figures for Saturday morning. Crazy stuff. Quote Link to comment
FLU
The cartoon you're referring to is Hulk Hogan's Rock N' Wrestling. They also had a breakfast cereal. 1 Quote Link to comment
HuskerFanChuck
Oh... Bobby 'the Brain' Heenan. The Undertaker. The different incarnations of the Ultimate Warrior. Ric Flair. Bret Hart. Good gracious, those were some crazy days. I remember a black wrestler with a parrot, I believe. Coco something, I think was the name he went by. Plenty of others that came and went over time. HuskerFanChuck
That's it, FLU. Crazy how you remember that stuff. o.O Quote Link to comment
FLU
You're thinking of Koko B. Ware and his bird, Frankie. Yes, pathetically, I used to study pro wrestling history. I worked from some pro wrestling newsboards back in the day, and worked for a wrestling company called Mid-South Wrestling Showcase. 1 Quote Link to comment
FLU
I've been a WWWF/WWF/WWE fan since the early 1980s, back when Bob Backlund was champion. The first live match I attended was for my 8th birthday -- the co-main event was Andre the Giant vs. Blackjack Mulligan and Bob Backlund vs. Superfly Snuka. 1 Quote Link to comment
ShawnWatson
I watch WWE every night before my mom tells me it's bedtime and I put on my footed pajamas. 2 Quote Link to comment
HuskerThor
HaHa, that was almost funny. Quote Link to comment
FLU
Perfect example of someone who thinks he's funny, but isn't. 1 Quote Link to comment
ShawnWatson
Funny? It's still real to me, damnit! Quote Link to comment
HuskerThor
Now that was funny! BTW, Jerry the King Lawler is doing great. He is just lucky he had that massive heart attack during the show. EMT's and doctors are always at ringside. Quote Link to comment
FLU
Lawler shouldn't have been wrestling at that age... makes zero sense. 1 Quote Link to comment
HuskerThor
Apparently, at age 62, he still wrestles twice a week. Quote Link to comment
FLU
Like I said, it makes no sense... you have young talent in the back who are begging for more TV time, yet you have a 62-year old challenging your champion. 1 Quote Link to comment

WWE is hard to watch these days -- hard to find anyone worth pulling for. 1 Quote Link to comment
