IMO, here is the issue. In year 5 has Bo done anything to make you think he is a great coach? Would he currently rank in your top 10 current coaches? Would any other school actively try and recruit him away?

It is not the fact we lose, it is the manner. We get flat out embarrassed and beat down. The team implodes with penalties and self inflicted mistakes. The walk-on program is a great tradition, but you are not going to win championships playing kids no other school recruited. You are not going to win when we can not keep the talent we have recruited or fail to recruit talent. You can't win if the team in year 5 still doesn't have the fundamentals. You can't win with this 2 gap scheme unless you have dominant DL play.

Bo is a good coach, but with the game on the line we need an above average guy. Great talent can hide deficiencies. If we can't recruit this talent then look what you can fix..........the staff.

Beck was the passing coordinator at KU. What the hell does that even mean? Look at the RB's when he coached them. We had Roy and a young Rex. When Roy graduated and Rex rose up that was all we had in the wings. One guy. No development, yet Beck was handed the keys to the castle to basically create a system that he had no experience to draw from IMO. Look at Papuchis. Last years DL stunk and then he was given the keys to be our DC with no friggin experience. Bo, an average coach, has IMO surrounded himself with people more average that himself. Without superior talent ie Suh, Haag, Gomes, Prince, Fonzie etc or the talent of LSU or OU, Bo and his scheme is exposed, but better coaching staff could really help these issues. It is hard to teach the kids when the majority of the staff is also learning their jobs. Make schemes easier. Bring them along in small doses. The Redskins at the beginning of this season asked RGIII what he was comfortable with. They went with what he felt good with. They call plays he can execute. This is what a good staff does. An experienced staff does. It is what ours needs to do as well on both sides of the ball.

I called for Franks head during 2002, that or he shake up the staff. He did, but we still fired him. I think we should have waited another year. IMO, Bo is at that same cross roads. He has some hard decisions to make. Perhaps even as easy as changing schemes on D. Go with the simple over complex. Play within the teams abilities. Play better athletes over smarter guys. Athleticism hides flaws pretty well ie David in yr one. Maybe this will right the ship. I hope so.

Bo really needs to self evaluate. Maybe the staff can pull it together. I hope so. We do not need another 9 win firing. Bo needs help. TO was right down the hall and could have really helped Beck tremendously. Time to put their pride aside and realize that they (staff) need some help.
