Any word out of camp about how Nickens is doing?

Nickens supposedly was 'impressing' somewhat in practice last week. That's what I read anyway.

 

I have nothing to base it on, other than what I've read in the local papers, but I have a feeling Nickens will have a huge year for us.....

Jay guy time to step up and earn that scholly

I honestly forgot he was still here. Never hear him brought up. Has he played at all? He kind of reminds me of Cruz Barrett. He was the highly touted kid from Florida we picked up. Had offers from Florida, Florida State, Oklahoma, etc. Never did a thing. It happens, but what a disappointment.

Cruz Barrett, haha, I think about that guy from time to time. He was huge and physically looked like he should be a good player, but I don't think he ever saw the field the whole time he was @ NE. I kind of wonder sometimes if guys like that, you know, face themselves in the mirror. Jay Guy appears to be another one like that, but there is slight talk of him being in the rotation this year.

I haven't heard his name mentioned at all. The difference between Barrett and Guy is that Guy doesn't even look the part. Don't be surprised if Guy, Ashburn, Vestal, and Okuyemi are all shown the door after this year. They all redshirted, and will all have graduated after this season. Nebraska will have upheld their end by paying for their education, so there will be no need to have them around since they don't contribute on Saturdays....

WoWT is reporting Defensive Tackle Kevin Williams is out for the year with a torn ACL.

I guess that one of the young guns will be needed to step up and fill the gap. Message to young gun.......strap on your helmet and get started, oh and one other thing.....HIT somebody!

I guess ill be the tool that brings it up but is it really that big of deal? I feel for the kid and sorry for him but our DL was god awful last year and none of these guys have proven anything. All we are going by is the hype. So we lost some depth? Big deal, we have 5 guys sitting at that position, all of whom probably won't be great this year anyways. This doesn't change much. I'm a huge kool aid drinker and optimistic as they come, but our games will not be won because of our rush defense and there is no argument against that.
