sd'sker
Fair enough. If you don't want to get into the D's and R's, fine. I just felt it had a big impact as to why it got to that point but I'll leave it at that. I will give you props for acknowledging that this is a problem and it needs to be resolved unlike others on here. My prediction is the Mayor will lower pensions come next contract and the union will fight like hell against and they will meet somewhere in the middle. Problem is it will still be too much and it will take several rounds of contract fighting to get it were it needs to be. see. we can be friends. Link to comment

Omaha-Husker
Now Omaha's credit rating is downgraded? http://www.omaha.com...ting-downgraded Not terribly surprising. Between the out of control pensions and the massive sewer separation project Omaha could be better off than it is. It is really only a slight downgrade we went from Prime to High Grade, AA+ is still better than most. It will help people see that we need to make some changes though. Link to comment

Just as long as Stothert doesn't adopt a "blame Suttle" campaign. Link to comment

Just as long as Stothert doesn't adopt a "blame Suttle" campaign. It will happen no doubt. This decision was set in motion before Stothert or Suttle took office though. Considering what Suttle had to deal with during the flood it is impressive that we held onto the rating this long. Omaha is strong enough to move back up with some good decisions these next few years. Those pensions need to be fixed. Link to comment
