Hail Mary Video - Radio Commentary

I just really don't like Greg Sharpe's commentary. It's good, but not great and doesn't do much for me personally. I want a play-by-play guy that would absolutely lose his mind when your team completes a hail mary as time expires to win the game and possibly save the season. Imagine Gus Johnson calling that game, whether you like him or not, he would have just lost it with excitement and I think it's the commentator's job to make you feel what's happening before making you hear what's happening.

I don't mind Sharpe at all, but I've never really been wowed by him. He's certainly an upgrade to Rose's awful play-by-play. Living in Birmingham, I used to listen to most games on streaming audio dating back into late 90's, but since the move to the B1G and the expanded TV coverage, I rarely listen to the radio play-by-play anymore. I regret not having the radio broadcast on now just for Davison's reaction.

Jim Rose would lose his $h!t on even the smallest bit of excitement, and as a result, his play by play was unintelligible. I like the fact that you can understand what is actually going on when Sharpe calls the game.

With Rose he would say player x is down to the 30,31,32,33,34 yard line. Ok, it's 1st and ten from the 28 yard line. Good enthusiasm, but he could not paint a picture with words as to what was going on. Sharpe does a good job of this. Davison then brings the excitement,

Agreed. All I'm saying is there is a balance - a highway between two ditches, and Rose was in one ditch, and I think Sharpe is a ways into the other.
