Coaches & Media Criticism

Too many people can vent their rage on social media without ever being held accountable. Many get vicious and its usually not warranted unless you are talking about rapists, child molesters, murderers, Liberals, socialists, progressives and communists.

I think the major problem here is that the coaches take it personally and the players see it or perceive it. Probably, the biggest impact is on the perspective recruits, their high school coaches and their parents.

Which one do you hate the most?

do you have normally worry about what other people "feel" or say about something to form an opinion?

I don't, and if the media local or nationally want to laugh or say he's a lunatic so be it, Bo is a real person and while not perfect it is nice to have someone who tells it like it is- did you buy into the hatchet job ABC did on TO back in 95 too?

People think for yourselves for a change

I guess I would be concerned if it had an effect on our next class(es) of recruits...

Bo seems to be an easy target by opposing coaches, Referees, even the media...You only have to poke him a couple of times to take him out of his game and make him all but useless (the rest of the game)..

It (the contrast) was refreshing at first compaired to Callahan and his "coachspeak", but it's really hard to truly respect someone that has that hard of a time controling his emotions, screams at players, refs, media to "Not do it wrong" rather than explain the correct way to "do it right"..(Positive re-inforcement vs. Negative)

That was one of the great things I'd heard about playing for Osborne..He (and his coaches) wouldn't yell to get their point across if you missed an assignment..(except maybe Corgan) They'd take the time to show you why the little details were so important to the overall sucess of the play.

My knee-jerk reaction to Bo calling out the fans? I think he's right and that it's sorta funny...But it does take it's toll on not only public perception but his own players' thoughts of the fanbase and how to deal with the pressure...

I'd hope that most highschool coaches and players would realize by now that fans posting to BBS sites represent the lowest portion of the total fanbase and they're pretty much the same everywhere..

BBS sites, nice! How far can you walk without a cane or mobility scooter? ;) Though I fear I'm dating myself by even admitting I recognize that term.

Anyway, I like to think we at Huskerboard are one rung up from the very bottom feeders.

I'm glad I erased the part about not wanting to play for Frank Kush when I was picking colleges...And Thanks for making me think back to when it all started for me...17 years? Hanging out on a Florida Gator site and doing my best to assume that Husker fans were too good to have one of these ugly BBS sites where fans ate their young.

And yes..This one is better than any of the others..and I mean it.

Can't really control what the media does. So you have to worry about the things actually under your control, which includes how you respond to whatever it is the media does.

Does that mean I have to take back that crack about not recruiting kids that like ©Rap music because it causes them to fumble and/or jump offsides?
