Mavric
i think it's just another case Mav of folks yearning for how it used to be. But lets face the facts. We simply do not have the head-and-shoulders advantages in strength, conditioning, nutrition, psychology, and *depth* that we did 20 years ago that took average to good players in this state, could put them through a 2-3 year process, and made them elite. Agreed. With more scholarships available we could afford to take a few more guys and let them develop. And (I'm somewhat speculating here) more of them were willing to walk-on and work their way up. Just doesn't work the same anymore. Quote Link to comment
Mavric
His scooter was hit by a car. He suffered a concussion and injured his knee. Sucks for him. Hope he is OK. At least this is what is being reported on the radio. Iowa defensive end Drew Ott was injured in a scooter accident early Monday morning, Iowa City Police Department documents confirm. The police report states that the subject was “down,” which means Ott wasn’t up and moving around. The 6-4, 270-pound junior was taken to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics with “non-life threatening” injuries. Ott was driving his scooter westbound on Benton Street Monday morning. A driver was eastbound on Greenwood drive when they turned north in front of Ott. The driver was cited for failure to yield on a left turn, according to Iowa City Police. Ott wasn’t wearing a helmet. Link Hope it's not very serious. Quote Link to comment
