"Do nothing and hope for the best" doesn't sound great especially from a diplomatic point of view with respect to our allies in the region, and you'd have to present why you think that would be preferable to the air strikes. "Mass invasion of ground troops" sounds even worse at the moment. So...what is it Link to comment
walksalone Posted September 25, 2014 Author Share Posted September 25, 2014 Ok, there wasn't any reason for "round 2" with Saddam. Eventually he'd have stepped on his Richard to the point where the "blue helmets" would have been called in to sort that out. We never needed to go down that road, especially since we already had our hands full in Afghanistan. As for ISIS, if you choose to leave them be, you'll pay for it down the road. If ground troops are sent in, which is a bad idea because they'll be screwed by the ROE... Link to comment
