Going To Do This

Recommended Posts

Well I know there has to be some country lovin’ folks out here so here is a song for you.  I danced country too and rocknroll.  You name it and I probably danced it lol.  I am multi-tasking today, drinking coffee, doing songs for you and watching Nebraska play.  Have to charge phone again.  Will be back later so try not to miss me too much haha

I used to play this song to by the kinks and it drove my dad up the wall.  I posted it already by Van Halen but here is the one that I played.

The Kinks will always own this song. VH did it very well but they just rented it.

My 2 year old grand daughter absolutely loves this song.  She giggles when the blond girl takes her husbands hat and runs. I'm not a huge country fan but I do like B & D and a few others.

Eating is like dancing.  If you want to go out to get a hamburger, you go to a restaurant or drive in place that sells them.  If you want a steak, you go to a steakhouse, etc.

This is the same philosophy my friends and I used in college on weekends. My friends and I would take a vote on what kind of music we were in the mood to dance to on weekends.  We knew what bar played what kind of music.  The majority won on what bar we would go to.  However, we felt it was our civic duty as friends to attend all bars voted on.  We also had a rule that we’d all go together and all come back together.

I can talk a lot laughing. My dad always said when he was alive, once you’re dead you are always dead so talk!

There is a song on the bottom, a story first.

Eating is like dancing.  If you want a hamburger, you get a hamburger from a hamburger place.  You want a steak, you go to a steakhouse, etc.

This is the same reasoning my friends and I used in college.  On the weekends, we liked to go dancing so we would take a vote on what bar we wanted to go to.  We knew what bar played the kind of music we liked.  The majority won the vote on what bar we would go to.  However, drinks later, we decided as friends, that we needed to go to all the bars that was voted on. We also had a rule that we go there together and we all come back together!

My dad used to say when I wanted to take a nap, “once your dead, you are always asleep” so I take his reasoning and talk while I can, laughing

"All Right Now" is one of those songs that has it all. Good vocal and frontman, lead guitar has strong areas to shine but to me this song is bass driven all the way. Paul Kossof was a great lead guitar player though and no one carries this song like he did. The wild thing was that the members of free were all 18-20 years old when they hit it big. The song writer was only 16!

Golden Earring was a Dutch band.  This is a lip synced tv show they did in 1973 I think in Germany. It shows the band and what they look like.  Pay close attention to the drummer whose name is Cesar Zuiderwijk.

This is Golden Earring in 2015.  The band has aged but they still are on their game. Same drummer too and they are all about 70 years old now.

A story again:  I had a friend who was a neighbor of mine while growing up.  We were friends only!! He had an old pick up truck and sometimes I would ride with him to do chores on his parents farm.  We would have the radio on and this song would come on.  We would take one look at each other and laugh and sing this song all the way down the highway.

There may be times when I talk before posting a song, it depends on how my shoulder is. I may have come across like I am a party girl.  Yes I have had my moments, but, the good lord has always been a big part in my life.  I grew up in a very small town in Nebraska.  I was never afraid to get my hands dirty.  I gathered eggs from chickens we had, rode horses, picked cherries from cherry trees we had on our land, fed cows and pigs.  That’s enough talking for now, song time.
