HuskerNation1
The latest audio-leak just re-iterates what a complete mental case Pelini was/is, and I'm wondering how many recruits (or their parents) would not even consider Nebraska because of Pelini. If I had a child looking to play D1 football, I certainly would not want him to have a coach like Pelini, just as I wouldn't have wanted my son to play basketball under Bobby Knight. With that said, I'm wondering if we will see any new 2015 or 2016 recruits show interest in Nebraska now that Pelini is gone. Quote Link to comment
ShawnWatson
I don't think anything positive is going to come out of audio leak 2.0 Quote Link to comment
HuskerNation1
I don't think anything positive is going to come out of audio leak 2.0 I guess I see it differently. Some media outlets thought NU was crazy for firing a guy that won 9 games, and indicated that Nebraska fans put too much pressure on the team. That was negative publicity that may have scared off some recruits...but this audio leak reveals the true man that Pelini is, and those that may have been second guessing SE's decision to fire Bo will now understand why he did what he did. On top of that, I think Riley's completely opposite personality marks a fresh new era for NU, and some players who never considered NU before might give us a look. Quote Link to comment
zoogs
Those media outlets I think were in the minority. This doesn't change much of the reality of it, it just lays a lot of the potential issues bare. I don't think it was better for the team, but in some way I'm glad that Bo can't hide behind the facade we have allowed for him, being fans of Nebraska, for most of the past seven years. He never deserved it. Quote Link to comment
sd'sker
mike riley is one of the most respected coaches in america. if eichorst can land him, that says an awful lot about the program and just as much about bo's delusional victim hood, paranoia, and persecution complex. 2 Quote Link to comment
Redmusky
Mike's presentation will be different then Bo's so we may end up with a different type of player, but the system we end up running defensively and offensively will dictate more the type of player we end up with. Quote Link to comment
Touchdown Tommie
I don't think anything positive is going to come out of audio leak 2.0 I guess I see it differently. On top of that, I think Riley's completely opposite personality marks a fresh new era for NU, and some players who never considered NU before might give us a look. I see it this way too. But I think NU responded wrong in this case. I think that it takes 2 to tango and Eichorst isn't completely guiltless on this at all. I think that by the school releasing a response, they legitimized Pelini's comments and really brought shame upon the school by doing so. It seemed like a prideful response of an individual versus a response of the school...and if it were to be the school's response, it should have stopped after the first paragraph. Back on Topic...I hope we see lots of Riley recruits as soon as possible. I think predicting a starting lineup next year will be almost impossible. I am not sure I agree with you that it legitimized Bo's comments. It is about time the university spoke out on this prick of a coach. Talk about ruining your image even more, his press conference taking pot shots at Nebraska and then the meeting conversation being released completely sealed the deal with me. I was not completely on board with his firing when it first happened, but as time has gone by I am all in. Bo is a d-bag that is responsible for dividing Husker Nation. Maybe going to YSU will give him some time to reflect and start to realize that Nebraska/TO gave him the opportunity of a lifetime to resurrect a program that was broken. I feel it is just the same as it was with BC...and I hated this guy! It is about time someone stand up to this clown and help people realize what a detriment to the university he was/is. 1 Quote Link to comment
