  1. Eh, we got whipped today. We flat out combusted, they didn't. That's pretty much it imo.
  2. Eh, what? What would Green and Mackovica have said about their combined 37 yards on the season if Crouch were their QB? I'm not a big Frost fan, but the guy RAN THE OPTION a heckova lot better than Crouch. Still, I don't really blame Crouch as much as most. His head coach warped our unstoppable offense into a 1 man show that, the next year, became easier to shut down than most High School offenses.
  3. I wanted to post on this subject. I would rather we went 0-12 and were clean than win the NC and have a legitimate scandal here. I don't want a SINGLE instance like what OU has 5 of. Having talked to people about this, they all say "oh c'mon? 0 wins?" But I mean it. I am VERY firm in my beliefs on this. It's that important to me personally.
  4. Nebraska vs Texas 2002. Worst game ever. First time I realized what we were headed for. We were totally outmatched on Offense. Their D lined up in a block the punt formation every play and we couldn't do anything about it.
  5. Wow. Ok, I don't post much but had to put my .02 cents in on this.... OSU is NOT the flip side of Texas in the Big 12 Unloaded. That would be Michigan. OSU would be more like Oklahoma. This is just my opinion, I'll explain. Michigan way way back when we didn't really have CFB, we still had a rough sort of rugby, had a coach who actually re-made the rules that we now use in what we refer to as College Football. Before the big rivalry between Michigan and the University of Chicago (I think it was)... yeah, before Notre Dame knew what a football was, these two teams kind of created our CFB. Michigan got to make up the rules, they wracked up an absolute BUTTLOAD of wins this way.... not unlike the way the Texas State Legislature, way back in like... 1908 got together and decided they needed ONE main school that the lion's share of the state's resources, money, prestige, and good recruits went to. I present to you, the University of Texas in Austin. This is also how UT wracked up a huge amount of wins. Compound that with Texas's back room dealings, stacking the deck, etc. A lot of pomp, a lot of ego, And still probably the most under preforming program in all of sports, for what they have working in their favor..... And yes, if you're under 30 years old you probably think of OSU as the dominant program in the Big 10. They were from around 2001-02. But things are / were cyclic in college football. When I was growing up, Ohio State wasn't much, well, Michigan really wasn't either. Penn State was a powerhouse but they weren't in the Big 10 yet. Before my recollection, you had the 10 year war with Bo and Woody, etc etc. All I'm saying is for folks who are wanting the beat or play the absolute best in the Big 10, and are talking about OSU (I do think they have the best defense in the Big 10 imho) I kind of think they are on the downward spiral with the stuff they were caught doing.... you know, Kind of like Oklahoma after blowing up the Huskers in the 80's, then Switzer got caught... and you have the Sooner 90's.
  6. Wow. I thought the obvious answer was PSU, but after reading this thread maybe I'd better be taking a look at Michigan. I haven't watched them to much this year but was thinking back to the 2002 game at PSU and all the crap their fans did to our fans... and all the crap their team did to our Frank Solich led team. Naturally Robinson worries me but is PSU's offense that bad? I haven't gotten to watch them this year.
  7. Who cares about Tommie Frazier. He played 16 years ago, the media coverage back then was completely different. My vision blurred. My neck kind of popped and my eyes rolled back in my head. I just pooped myself. How can you say such a thing. Heresy I say.
  8. Now my impression of you is so different. It went from the other picture to First impressions aren't always the right impressions. We've all learned something today. What's that thing in his pocket..... It's an artichoke. It looks like an explosion.
  9. If you took the best players from every team, All Star style, we'd lose a game or two. But if you took the best teams from all the teams, our 95 squad would win it all. Crazy team chemistry meshed with crazy athleticism and a violent physical nature, they'd beat anyone. The USC teams last decade and the Alabama teams now wouldn't stand a chance. jmo

  11. Knapplc, This is a bit off topic but saw your reference to Randy York. Wanted to tell folks a story. I've only got to go to two Husker games in my life. The second one was the 300th sellout game and me and my wife and two boys (4 and 7 years old) got to take my parents, who've never got to go to a game either. My parents drove from Western Wyoming on the Utah border to our place in Belle Fourche, SD. We drove from Belle Fourche so it was a trip. Drove all day and got to Lincoln, checked into the Embassy Suite the night before the game. It was about 11pm, drizzling slightly and wanted to take my family on campus and let them see the stadium. My parents hadn't ever been there so wanted to go before game day when it was kind of calm. We walked around campus and got to the stadium. My dad, crusty old rancher all his life looked up at Memorial and I heard him kind of exhale involuntarily. Most of you probably remember your first time. We walked around the backside and showed my mom the Brook Berringer statue. She loved that guy. She cried a bit. Then we went over to a set of doors. It had been dark for several hours and everything was locked down. Me and my motley family peered inside and a fellow came and cracked the doors and said it was closed, and that we needed to walk around. I explained we weren't really trying to get anywhere and I was just trying to show my parents the Husker's stomping grounds for the first time, and that we'd come from Belle Fourche, SD. Well, it was Randy York. It was close to midnight. He looked tired. Disheveled. His suit was a bit ruffled and he had been obviously working all day and had been headed out the door to go home. He was surprised we'd driven so far for some reason and on the spot, took me and my family in and gave us a private tour. And I mean it was a FREEKING big time private tour. We got to see the Heisman room, before any other fans, the tech guys were still working out bugs and used us as guinea pigs. All up and down the halls with all the memorabilia. Took us into the locker room! We were alone in there, hallowed ground and it was before the 300th consecutive sellout game and the players old school helmets were up above each locker. We got pictures of Suh and Asante's lockers as well as a bunch of others. Now, my wife and my mother were just looking around like "neat" but... maybe it's a man thing, but me and my old man were in awe. Watching the Huskers all our lives and being in the locker room like that, quiet, before the game, it was really really cool. Randy then took us down the tunnel walk area and out on the field at night. The lights were on and we were the absolute only ones there. It was simply amazing for my entire family. Got pictures of my boys in the endzone, etc. But Randy York did all that for some unknown family. He had wanted to go home, he was tired and had been preparing all day for the game, but he took about 40 minutes to take us around and show us something that... quite honestly was one of the most special things in my life. We never asked, he just offered. He's a special fellow. Sorry so long, but I just really wanted to share that.
  12. The only thing I can come up with is he was trying to make a funny at our expense.
  13. They are probably around a 5-6 place team imo. I think NU could be maybe 14-17ish if we can buckle down from here on out and fix our "issues" on both sides of the ball. It chapps my hind end that we were going toe to toe with them until... who knows what happened. A few players got jittery and some flags were thrown and we went away from the run. I mean, we ran away from our run game, it was gone. Like Pluto, just no longer acknowledged. I don't think Wisky stopped it. Just totally wiped away from Beck's mind. One of the more bizarre O schemes I've seen us implement. TM doing his best Bret Farve. Wisky's O is good though. They may get a bit ruffed up by LSU or Bama, but they could move the ball on them. Their D is "kinda bad". We witnessed a total Husker meltdown on our O side of the ball and it made Wisconson's D look great. It'd be fun to watch the Badgers O and Bama or LSU's D's brutalize each other back and forth and see who came out on top.
  14. We got beat. It happens. The coaches and the players just need to suck it up and focus on the next game on the slate. Yeah we've got problems, but this was a big game for the players. The entire nation had been waiting for this game, probably more than any other game this year. There was a buttload of pressure, and we didn't handle it the right way. We've got a questionable offense with a first year coordinator, a lot of youth on D with a lot of holes to fill. I've got concerns yeah. I'd like to see Carnes get a shot at starting next game. If not to see him be the next Tommy Frazier, at least to motivate TM. But I don't know what the coaches know and I gotta trust them to do the right thing. For whatever reason, TM's our qb. And our D is going through a rebuilding year. I think most of us know this stuff is cyclic and it's kinda healthy for us as fans to come here and discuss it. I just hope we don't all get to out of hand and flip out over this loss. It was a bad loss but the sun will come up tomorrow and our program will improve.
