Since I post here a fair amount I'll give this a shot. Adjusted for my fanitude of course...
1) How long have you been a member of Husker Nation?
Not a member but I used to root for the Huskers in Big XII play. Not a hardcore fan or anything but they were my horse in the race if you will. Maybe its because of the similarity in the uniforms, maybe because I didn't like the Big XII south, I dunno. I've been a Badger fan my whole life though.
2) What/who led you to The Nation?
erm my remote? As far as UW my parents and grandparents are alumni. I was born in Madison, used to go to games and a cousin was a walk on and is currently a Graduate Assistant. My family moved south when I was a teenager and due to family constraints (my mother was ill at the time) I actually earned my undergrad from an SEC school, which will remain unnamed. I love my alma mater, I'm a booster and try to go to games when I can, though they've never been very good historically, but for the purposes of this board I'm a Badger. I was born one and I'll die one.
3) Where are you from originally?
Born in Madison, grew up in the Northwoods. I've lived in many places though.
4) Where do you live now?
Manhattan, Kansas
5) Favorite Husker memory?
2009 Gator Bowl
6) Worst Husker memory?
2009 Big XII Championship
7) Number of home games attended?
Would like to go, maybe next year!
8) Number of away games attended?
---
9) Favorite Husker memorabilia/apparel?
That corn hat is kind of cool. Reminds me of my cheesehead.
10) Favorite place to watch a Husker game? (section in Memorial, bar, friends house etc.)
My living room with a beer.
11) Favorite all time player?
Ahman Green!
12) WCO or Option?
There's a certain nostalgic beauty in the Option
13) Stevie Pederson or Billy Byrne?
Dunno, Byrne had a better tenure right?
14) Lil Red or Herbie Husker?
Lil Red is creepy if you're not a kid...Herbie's respectable though.
15) Favorite Husker play?
Don't have one
16) Favorite game-day beverage?
Leinenkugel!
17) How did you find HuskerBoard? (referral source)
I honestly don't remember but I've been reading the board since last summer's realignment craze.
Any Pictures I'd wish to share?
Sure, this weekend I visited a cold war relic near my new home here in Kansas. I give to you, the M65 Atomic Cannon, with a range of more than 20 miles it was designed to launch nuclear devices toward what the Army feared might be tides of communist soldiers assaulting the frontiers of Korea and Germany. Never fired in anger and obsolete almost upon manufacture, the guns and their munitions were often commanded by company grade officers, which is kind of scary really.
Only a handful remain in existence and this beauty overlooks I-70 silently guarding Ft. Riley's Marshall Army Airfield.
I really enjoy this board. I post on several others that don't quite compare to the atmosphere you all have created. I'm a member of a fairly large board for my alma matter that is far too large and impersonal for its own good and other forums I've encountered are too cliquey and exclusive. You guys have the perfect balance. I like the Huskers (don't love, I won't exagerate) and would like to maintain a presence in these here parts...give me time, I'll grow on you.
