  1. I demand changes. We should be up by at least 20 points against these guys!! Let's fire Pelini!
  2. That is definitely not the worst drip problem to have..
  3. Dont' want to start a new thread, so popping this question in here. What is the status of Bryce Benhardt? Haven't heard his name at all since the season started. Is he officially redshirting? Wondering why he isn't getting on the field under the four game rule. Maybe later games? Just not developed enough yet? Thought I heard he might challenge for a starting spot.
  4. I've figured 7 wins this year. We'll have to improve to get there. The national hype got way, way out of line. We were a four win team the last two years. In the big boy league, that doesn't change over night. If we do get to seven and a bowl, I'm OK. Not happy, but OK. Still, game like today suck the life out of me.
  5. Glad your team won Cacti! Good to hear from you.
  6. Not me. No amount of wins was worth his gutter mouths, saliva spewing, venomous bad attitude.
  7. I had a vision that one of our O-Linemen gets medieval on a Bluffalo for a perceived late hit on Martinez and gets ejected. The Huskers then proceed to demolish CU.
  8. We've got our Whoopie, now the mandatory "Predator" needs to make a show.
  9. I would love for this to happen, and to be the start of a year full of over the top wins from start to finish.
  10. Quite a few folks picking Colorado to win. I can see it happening, but did pick NU to win a close one with a good week one - to - week two boost. I'm only thinking 7 wins this year, so wouldn't be surprised to see the damned Bluffs get this one on their home field. Thinking 7 wins won't keep me from picking the Huskers in every contest though. I'm a glutton for pain.
  11. Huskers 31 Bluffs 24 Passing 286 Rushing 205
  12. Very important indeed. May the fleas of a thousand camels infest the britches of who ever started that thread about the possibility of another storm delay/cancellation!!!!
  13. Well now, either I don't have enough caffeine in me, or that sentence just doesn't make sense.
  14. JoJo Dohman (I suspect that is misspelled completely) The tight ends as a group.
  15. That is exactly where I ended up. And that is up a win from how I felt earlier in the year.
  16. Yeah, that's good, but it could have been covered in the practice thread....plus....show it to me on the field, don't just talk about it!!! LOL (you got me on that one...fair and square)
  17. This is about the only thread I can even handle right now. Tired of all the "rival or not rival", preseaons rankings, blah, blah, blah of the off season. Give me practice or give me games!!!!!!
  18. I remember players from Frost's era saying they couldn't wait for Saturday because the practices were so tough the game seemed like a break. Also, the practices were so high energy that even good friends would start to get after each other, so they couldn't wait to hit somebody from another team. That showed in the results.
  19. LOL, you are right! In my high school I remember the library had a poster of a bum type of guy sitting on a park bench. Holes in the bottoms of his shoes, torn pants, 5 day growth of facial hair, etc. He was seated next to a well dressed business man type. The bum guy had the word bubble coming out of his mouth "I used to be high point man on the team!". I think of that poster in so many instances, and, as you've pointed out, like it or not, that is where we are right now! Good comment Landlord!
  20. We are their rival, they are the ugly girl that keeps thinking she's the belle of the ball but keeps getting bowls of dog food splashed on her head at Prom. The only rival I've known was OU. I hated losing to them, but also had a huge amount of respect for their program. I just plain hate Iowa because of their attitude. Same way it was for me with Colorado.
  21. For me, it is always football season...it's just that I like the part of the season that has games a lot more than the rest of the season. Heh heh....
  22. Sadly, this week I realized my fan optimism has taken quite a hit. Amidst all the hoopla of the Big Ten Media days and the stellar interviews from Frost, Mo, Adrian and Davis, amidst all the national press predictions for Husker success, I got a really sick feeling in my stomach. That old "we can't have nice things, something will go wrong" dread overcame me. I've been in the 7, maybe 8 win mentality since the end of last year....but even that expectation now scares me. I really, really need for the season to start and to have some good looking wins on the board to get past this morass. We need a good year.
  23. I am indeed older. I think the hype is accelerated for sure. Most likely it has to do with instant communications and so many people making their living at being first, loudest, boldest, brashest, most cutting edge. Social media has spurred it on as well. I don't remember Heisman conversations until near the end of the season. But then again, I am old and maybe I just don't remember! LOL
