  1. When San Diego State played MIchigan this year, Dennard had close to 200 yards rushing. He barely threw. I expect to see the same. I see Dennard as T-Mart's brother: neither can pass, but both can run. Put 12 men in the box all game long.
  2. Something has been missing from this season. It just seems hollow. I think the Wisconsin and Penn State games just emotionally wiped us out. I spent an incredible amount of energy getting up for Wisconsin, only to be knocked out cold. That game showed us that we were nowhere near the top. Sad. Also, the weirdness around Penn State made the season more strange. It just seems like something has been missing from this season. The reality is that I wanted us to compete for the National Championship, but we had way too much change and inexperience to get there. Don't get me wrong: glad to be in the Big 10 and love the new venues, but something has been missing. Still several cool games to play, so maybe that will change. Next year is aiming to be something special. Would like to end this year on a good note.
  3. This topic was discussed at length on another board before the Wisconsin game. The helmet was an old helmet that the scout team painted black to emulate Texas Tech during practice a few years back. There is absolutely no truth to the rumor that we are going to switch to black helmets.
  4. Choi and Spencer are our two best linemen BY FAR. I don't wish any ill-will upon ARod, but we're a much better team with Choi starting. No two ways about it.
  5. You're joking, right? Mrs. Snyder, please tell your husband to get off this board and get back to work. We'd have no trouble with K-State. That's all opinion ... a "joke". Strange words when you see K-State step up and play with some big boy teams. I'd take their QB and "consistency" any day. This would be a tough win for us ... as will any for the weak B1G. I don't see our conference stacking up well in many projected bowl games. K-State beat Eastern Kentucky 10-7. They beat a really, really bad Miami on the last play (it was a cool win, but against a weak team). Nothing about their record invokes fear.
  6. If we could play Bama, I'd like our chances. Their offense is not high-powered. It gives us a shot.
  7. The weird thing is that Qvale didn't even attend the Penn State game, and there was no word of injuries. One minute, this guy was going to be the starting tackle as a true freshmen. The next, he's third string. Don't get it.
  8. Let's be frank: we'll always have B-rated receivers at Nebraska. He's a B-rated receiver, that's why he drops balls. Nothing more, nothing less.
  9. If South Carolina or Georgia knocks off LSU, Bama is out of the BCS and on to the Gator Bowl. MSU would need to lose to Wisconsin in the B1G game, and we'd be on our way to the Gator Bowl to play Bama. That would be an incredibly cool game. Yes, we'd be longshots, but we'd have a month to heal and get ready. I realize that LSU losing is a longshot, but stranger things have happened.
  10. This is a big "if" but, if South Carolina beats LSU in the SEC title game, Bama would be out of the BCS and sent to the Gator Bowl. If we win out (and MSU loses to Wisconsin in the B1G title game), we could very well play Bama. That would be a cool game.
  11. Stanford does not have to lose. Their fans NEVER follow their team to a bowl game. There's a chance we could get picked over them.
  12. You're joking, right? Mrs. Snyder, please tell your husband to get off this board and get back to work. We'd have no trouble with K-State.
  13. This may sound sacriligious, but, I hope that we don't get to the title game. I just don't want to finish the regular season with a loss to Wisconsin. We need this season to end on a good note. If we play Wisconsin and they punk us again, it will be a harsh blow to us. Would rather finish the regular season 10-2 and play a good, second-tier bowl.
  14. One of the coolest things that I have ever seen.
  15. Okay, "forever" may be harsh, but I could see them fall off the map for a decade or two. For the next few years, their team will be weaker and lose more. Mix together a losing team and this reputation, and nobody will want to go there. I could be wrong, but I could be right.
  16. Relax, folks. Nobody is possibly going to forget this scandal, anymore than they would forget JFK or the Challenger Space Shuttle blowing up. Let's quit worrying about how we are possibly going to get hurt. This is not the time to be selfish. These people are trying to make good out of evil. They have no intention of hurting us.
  17. Our game with Penn State today very well may be the last big game that Penn State will ever play. They are already losing recruits. I see the dam breaking and recruits (and current players) fleeing the school. As for a new coach, I cannot fathom anybody of note taking over this program. I think that Penn State may turn into SMU after the death penalty. No parent will ever want to send their kid to Penn State save for a few diehard in-state recruits. Sad, but quite possibly true. I'm not making judgments on anybody, just suggesting that this may be the end of Penn State football as it has been known.
  18. I'm getting the feeling that enough time has passed that this will be just a semi-regular football game. If anything, I'd think that the Penn State players are emotionally drained. I'm a Husker living in San Diego and I'm emotionally drained. Can't imagine how mentally tiring it must have been to live and go to school at Penn State this week.
  19. I was concerned about showing support to the community, players, and families. Obviously, I have no interest in showing support to the powers that messed up.
  20. Use a steady diet of rotating running backs. Get Jamaal Turner into the game. Don't care if he isn't great at practice. He's great in games where it counts. An opening kickoff return by Ameer wouldn't hurt.
  21. In a show of support to Penn State players and the entire State College community, I think it would be cool if we replaced the red N on our helmets with a blue N this week. There is a lot of pain that there team and community is going through.
  22. WillisDavid, thanks for taking the time to give us your insights. It is appreciated.
