I want a defense that does not make the UCLA offense look like our 1995 offense.

UCLA is not a "best offense". God help us when we do face one.

Sigh... another week with the Huskers not on television.

Last week the game was not televised on any pay channel near me, this week an effing baseball game. We need a Husker Network, a channel that will televise our games.

I am happy with the game one results, Taylor had shown that he can achieve the above. A road game at UCLA should be a tougher test, but the real test will be against the better Big Ten defenses (Wisconsin, Ohio State, Michigan State).

The Republicans are on top of their game right now, it's the Democrats have their rose colored glasses on.

We had a bumper crop of blueberries this year, the best ever. The tomatoes and some other veggies did well, but some others suffered from the lack of water. This was a learning year, we will be further expanding the garden next year.

I've been spending alot of my time reading and with spiritual endeavors the past few months. It was sort of a reset on my outlook on life, looking in depth at concerns and issues of importance to me, coming to grips with what I could accept and what I should not, and which I could influence and how. We started a garden, which was alot of work. I also put up 4kw solar panels with a water heater, propane generator and battery backup. We also did alot of traveling, and visited and hosted distant family members. All in all a very positive time for me, and now I'm ready for some football! . BTW... prayers for the Tulane safety who had stopped breathing on the field after a nasty injury.

For the most part, the conventions are useless. They are live infomercials presented in front of a friendly crowd. We should be able to learn more about candidate policy in the debates, unfortunately most questions are softball, and candidates often avoid the questions and go into their prepared oration. We need a format like that at the Doha Debates, where the moderator asks tough questions and does not accept bullcrap answers.

Some of us can't watch the game, because ESPN sucks.

Well... neither site I had is working. I say this every darn year, I really, really hate ESPN.

The avatar is a hold-over from the Citrus Bowl vs South Carolina. Ohio is good for a MAC team. However they went on the road and beat down PSU. The score would have been much worse if the two FGs weren't missed. But I'll give credit where credit id due... Penn State appears to be an adequately mediocre MAC team.

Actually I did not know that, until it was explained to me in layman's terms. Recent laws regarding legal/illegal content are confusing and often changing.

Our trend of four loss seasons will improve as Taylor's passing game improves. I am cautiously optimistic. A true dual threat must include the passing game.
