  1. Thanks for your work so far................I went ahead and did the average defensive number of both season. Obviously we didn't have a championship game that we attended this year and I went ahead and left Washington out and South Carolina out, bowl games, so the numbers I was comparing were as close as possible. Can't help, but include Oklahoma in last years defensive hardness numbers. I came up with the following stats: 2010 average rank for defense: 66.58333 2011 average rank for defense: 53.09091 That's a pretty good difference IMO and shows that Taylor has gotten better this season despite the similar stats between 2010 and 2011. If you take Oklahoma out of the equation from last year and compare the numbers they are: 2010 average rank for defense: 69.45455 2011 average rank for defense: 53.09091 You might also take into account that Taylor didn't play against Iowa State and Colorado last year. If you took those two games out, the numbers would be a little closer. This is true and I thought of it but then to be fair we would have to take out the time vs Texas, Texas A&M and Missouri (I believe he missed time after getting stepped on) out.
  2. Glad we got similar numbers, if I took Washington out I am guessing they would be exact same. I do believe that this is showing that Taylor is doing the same/better things against significantly better defenses.
  3. I did the stats of average team defense we faced this year vs. last year. The rankings go to 120 and both Chattanooga (2011) and South Dakota State (2010) were not in the top 120 so I just had them cancel each other out. So here you go. 2010 Average Rank of Defense we faced- 68.69 2011 Average Rank of Defense we faced- 53.09 (that is excluding the currently ranked #4 South Carolina Defense we will face soon) Total Team Defense 2011 (South Carolina #4) Michigan State #5 Wisconsin #8 Penn State #10 Michigan #18 Ohio State #25 Iowa #68 Minnesota #77 Northwestern #80 Washington #94 Wyoming #98 Fresno State #101 Chattanooga did not make top 120 which is all that ranked. Total Team Defense 2010 Missouri #6 Texas A&M #27 Oklahoma #35 Texas #51 Oklahoma State #69 Idaho #73 Kansas State #75 Iowa State #76 Colorado #90 Washington X2 #94 Western Kentucky #99 Kansas #104 South Dakota State did not make top 120
  4. Northwestern was his best full game. 2nd half of OSU was his best playing.
  5. I think it's impressive how we all see him as a good manager now but he is still putting up the numbers he did last year.
  6. Badgerfan I actually agree with you that Ball deserves the Heisman over Richardson. Ball has better numbers in a statistically better run defense conference.
  7. I think Taylor Martinez has to be mentioned as a game changer, although not always in a good way. The team tends to go as he does, his play changes the game. Good Game Changer: Ohio State....Bad Game Changer: Wisky....
  8. http://www.omaha.com/article/20111205/NEWS/111209837#lavonte-david-an-all-american
  9. The American Football Coaches Association named Lavonte David a First Team All-American.
  10. I have a feeling our guys could do that to Houston.....level of competition....
  11. I've watched Robinson this year. He is head and shoulders a more effective player than TMart. Saying otherwise is pure homerism. And exactly which games of Robinson did you watch?
  12. I have thought all season that Taylor hasn't been running as good, I believed he was just running "smarter" but after watching this it is evident how much running smarter has hurt him.
  13. Sorry but that Northwestern game was on the whole team. Had the offense been able to score 40 points on one of the worst defenses in football like it should've, that game would not have been an issue. Go look up Taylor's numbers for that day...it wasn't in any way his fault. Rex and Quincy's fumbles are what killed the offense. O ya and the oline not being able to hold their own.
  14. He should refuse to go in because he knows he can't compete. Ya, if that was me, I'd quit the team because I'd get sick of getting embarrassed week in and week out. If it was you this wouldn't be a situation because you are just some guy sitting behind a computer talking crap. I will admit he is getting beat but you took it too far.
  15. I didn't see the start of the game, but did see Marlow's drop, who else has missed. Even if Turner had blocked his man on that play, there were three more defenders right there, it wasn't going anywhere anyway (unless they tackled like us). Reed had ball hit him square in the chest on 1st down late in the first half.
  16. I think we should pressure more, Robinson panicks under pressure
  17. Maybe that block is part of reason Turner is not playing...
  18. Go watch Landry Jones. He consistently can put a ball on target. There is a trust between receiver and QB. I remember watching Landry Jones throw 5 ints in one game vs us, it has taken him awhile to get to the point he is. That is when he was maturing as a QB and this is Taylor Maturing as a QB
  19. I think Taylor runs for more yards than Robinson this week. Just got a feeling. What you think?
  20. 1. Eric Martin is being used as a stand up end most of the time. 2. We will be in trouble unless Compton/Santos and Green fill the roles. 3. The option was effective and pitches weren't that bad, option is risky so get use to it. 4. Ya he does, if you watch. 5. Green has def stepped up, I see him being the next Prince/Fonzie (he is only a soph) 6. They are good, our line helped them look good too though. 7. I like the 3 RB diamond, not sure if I like the 4 WR bunch yet. Against Mich State we ran bubble screen out of it and we are lucky Taylor didn't turn and chuck...he saved a pick 6. 8. He missed a guy, o well. He had a good game. 9. Motion is getting better I think, he has took his passing game to a whole new level. 10. No clue on this one.....Cooper has played fairly well. 11. Looked smart there, looked bad later on. Agree it is a change up, but #71 Still figured it out and shut down everything out of that formation rest of game. 12. I don't like either. 13. Huge stop, think that was our first 4th and short stop of year 14. That was a huge drive. 15. We struggled tackling BIG time! dont have anything to say about last two...
