  1. It's like getting caught riding mopeds and fat chicks...Once someone has seen you do it, there's no turning back! And now we all know a little TOO much about BigRedNV's nightlife.
  2. How many losses did Frank Solich have at The Memorial as head coach? 4 or 5 home losses. Pretty good if you ask me. His road record may have been a tad bit worse. ; )

Though you may remember early in his NU career Brooks was criticized by his coaches that if wanted to be trusted on Saturday he has to show us throughout the week. I'm happy for Chris that he is getting some PT and making the most of it. I thought in the preseason that if Paul, Holt, and Brooks could play up to their potential that would be a trio of wide outs that would be tough to cover.
  4. They are no doubt subjective conversations but there is a reason that Nebraska fans have been highly regarded for all of these years right?
  5. I'll first state that this is just my experience with the two fan bases. There's like 18 people on Huskerboard and all 18 will have a different opinion. I truthfully have not had a bad experience with a KU fan. Sure they talk their smack and can have good banter back and forth with Husker fans but for the most part they strike me as having the attitude of "we're just happy to be here." I have a couple friends who are Rock Chalk fans and when I ask them about their team the say, "well hopefully we can stay healthy and beat who we have to beat and win a couple close ones." When I ask them about their chances against the Huskers they get a look on their face that says, "wow. Tough game." I had one KU fan say to me about their recent success, "we are on a good run right now." My experience with Mizzou fans has been the total opposite. "Hey Nebraska thanks for keeping our seat warm for us at the top but now we've arrived so...GET UP!" Some of the rudest fans I've sat by at The Memorial were Mizzou fans. It would totally shock me to hear a Mizzou fan say, "we are on a good run right now." All I hear Mizzou fans say are "we're back!" Back? Back to what? How far would some humility go for this program? This year most sportswriters were predicting 8-3 for the Tigers this season and the Tigers fans I knew we're saying they were a legitimate 10-1 team. They weren't being homers they just thought they were back and a force to be reackoned (sp?) with. I know Mizzou fans could say some similar things about Husker fans being the rudest they've encountered but I'm talking by and large. Are the majority of Husker fans jerks? I think that's a tough argument as most everyone regards Husker fans as class. So I'll be cheering for the Jayhawks, except for one game. As for cheering for Mizzou...not so much. What's your take on the two fan bases?
  6. A Black and urine yellow shirt. Missouri Football "Anyone can have a bad half a century."
  7. And if the fans don't come you better believe corporate Nebraska will buy tickets to save the sell out streak. In fact I think I heard rumors about it after Oklahoma State came to Lincoln a couple years ago and put it on us.
  8. By the way Cardinals will implode and lose the Central Division to the Cubs. That is my thought of the day. Kevin Kugler is here?
  9. "What does a tornado in Missouri and a divorce in Missouri have in common? Someone's fixin' to lose a double-wide."
  10. You call that a random response? How about this one: Pickles. That is all.
  11. Looks good but I think Tennessee Tech puts up more of a fight against K State. Do you think Bill Snyder regrets coming back yet?
  12. I was at the Mizzou game last year in Lincoln and sat in Row A. First of all I didn't even know there was a Row A until this game. We were right behind the Huskers bench and they were amazing seats...but I digress. A young Mizzou fan sat behind and absolutely berated Pelini, the Huskers, the fans around him. IMHO, it was the kind of berating that went behind normal "jawing." He was the rudest fellow I've encountered in all of my days at The Memorial. It was the only time in all of the games I've gone to over the years that I've wanted to punch someone in the throat. I determined that day, childish though it may be, I would never root for Mizzou again. Be it basketball, football, baseball, golf, freestyle frisbee catching, etc... Ah. Venting is so therapeutic. Now I gotta go call my therapist and tell her I'm all better. My .02
  13. This might date me a bit and I can't remember the lyrics real well. It was like Big Red. Big Red. A mighty Big Red. Somethine else about 76,000 will argue who's best. Big Red. Big Red. A mighty Big Red. Then something more about leaving the imprint of a Big Red N on all opposing faces. Big Red. Big Red. A mighty Big Red. Oh good times. Just taking a trip down memory lane and seeing if anyone else remembers this fine tune?
  14. What kind of apple? Well it wasn't a 1991 Washington apple I know that much!
  15. I punched myself in the man button several times and then ate an apple without rinsing it off first! OHHHHHHHHHH I was angry!
  16. I played safety in my day and what is the one rule that you get grilled into you every day? "Deeper than the deepest!" You hear it in high school and college. "Deeper than the deepest!" In Cover 2 your safeties are providing over the top help (either man or zone) and O Hanlon knew he had deep coverage. Don't you hear it all the time about "letting them have all the underneath stuff they want?" Underneath the safeties because they are deeper than the deepest. I think OHanlon got caught looking into the backfield and waiting for a tackle instead of staying with the receiver. Afterall, he was the safety who did he think he was releasing the receiver to? Look the bottom line OHanlon knew he blew because as one poster posted a story about him crying to his wife. Did he lose the game? No, the entire team did a pretty effective job at that. Did he blow his assignment on that play? Yes. Deeper than deepest OHanlon. OHanlon is a walk on and has played pretty well to date. I'm a bigger fan of Thenarse but apparently that guy can't play within the scheme of what Carl and Bo want to do. So I say, Go Matt! Better days are ahead my friend. GBR!
  17. I think God was busy fighting a lawsuit from a local senator.
  18. I noticed you didn't specify what year...Fort Rucker get ready for a nakie guy in the streets in 2009!
  19. I stayed up all night watching your avatar. Go Tommie!
  20. rest here, http://huskerextra.com/articles/2008/10/07...bb231849827.txt I guess the thing that stands out to me through all of this is I get the feeling things are getting better. The players are learning and developing and Pelini is building a Pelini culture in Lincoln. So if (for example) they are teaching we want to be physical on the offensive line and just flat out hit people in the mouth on defense then that takes time to teach. Pretty soon these kids learn it and pass it on to the next group of kids. Those kids say to a new set of kids, "Hey we don't push people down here, we hit 'em from the time they get off the bus until they get back on." So even though the scoreboard doesn't necessarily reflect it I think progress is being made and I have more confidence than I ever have that Pelini is building a Big Red Storm down there in Lincoln. Keep it up Huskers, we believe in you!
  21. Why do we bring back Will Shields? Why bring in Alex Gordon and Joba and Erstad? Why bring back Rozier? Why bring back Rimington or Grant? Because we're Nebraska dammit! We love these guys. We honor these guys and we thank them giving us all they had every Saturday (or other days for the baseball kids). Solich played here, coached here. In my mind, the purpose it serves is for the fans to say "thanks" and a PROPER "good-bye coach." A local radio show had Frank on before the season and he said he would consider it but the topic hadn't (at that time) even been brought to him. In my humble opinion I think it helps Frank too. In that same interview he said he couldn't even think about Nebraska and he would look away when Nebraska's score would roll at the bottom of the tv screen. I thought that sucked when he said that. Like a dagger through the Nebraska heart. Are we thanking him for his W-L record? Nope. Are we thanking him for giving a good portion of his life to this program? Damn straight. It's time coach. Come back and get the thanks and good-bye you were robbed of by SP.
  22. I gave this more thought today as the little fool still irks me. Can I really cheer against the Mizzou Tigers based on one stupid guy? We do it all the time don't we? I go to Applebee's and have bad service or a bad waiter what do we often say? "I will NEVER eat here again." One person can ruin it for that organization/company/football team. So is it really all the foolish of me? I don't think so. The Huskers run up the score one time or one fan acts arrogant back in the 90's and suddenly we have generations of fans growing up to hate the Huskers. What? Base your entire feelings based on one instance? Sure. We do it all the time. This kid just flat ruined Mizzou football for me. I'm sure two years from now I'll sit in Memorial Stadium and I'll have a class Mizzou fan sitting by me and I'll cheer for them to do well but as for now... Go Cowboys.
