Learned the game of basketball in intramural at college and played many basketball tournaments, city leagues and noon ball at the local YMCA till I was 65.   Nice guy, probably an excellent grandpa, father and husband. However it was as if he had none of the power most head coaches have. He was over ruled by Devaney and Eichorst on issues few head coaches in America would put up with.
