  1. USC #1?! What have they done recently to justify the top spot?
  2. I'm very disappointed by this. It doesn't make any sense. He could have gotten a lot of carries this year, leading into a dominant role for the next two years. He has a Christian position coach, and his brother is on the team. I disagree with the poster who wrote that we have a logjam at RB. Ameer is too tiny; his fumble cost us the bowl game, and Rex only has one year left. Aaron could have been a factor this year and the man for two years.
  3. Hey, what else are we going to do? We're Husker fans. It looks like we had a good spring, the talk is good, the kids look excited - maybe this is the year.
  4. Unfortunately that will be what Niles Paul will be remembered for. Niles Paul is the ultimate poster child for gross under-achievement. You can remember him for that, if you like. I'll remember him for a ton of great plays, instead of several failures. I'll go with flexing in the end zone after a touchdown against Arizona. A ton of great plays? You must have him confused with someone else. How about the kick return for a touchdown on the road at ranked Oklahoma St.? Do you remember that one?
  5. Why did the AD grant Doc an extension last year? I know I'm in the minority here, but it makes no sense to waste millions of dollars on the buyout. Who are they going to replace him with? Is Bob Knight coming out of retirement? Is Calipari looking to resurrect our program? If not, why waste the money? NU sucks at basketball, NU has almost always sucked at basketball, so I see no reason to fire the coach a year after his contract was extended. Just let him ride it out and then don't rehire him.
  6. Later in the article, he says it's time to take it to the next level. Man, I hope he's right. Let's win the Big Ten this year and play for all the marbles next year!
  7. Ankrah, Steinkuhler, Randle, Meredith - first team Carter, Rome, Guy, Martin - second team Anderson, Williams, Peat, Vestal - third team McMullen, Curry, Valentine, and Moss can all redshirt. Coach Kaz has some horses to work with. I'm excited to see them develop.

  9. I still think that the three seniors will start the first game, but if Anderson or Santos take over during the season, great - just as long as we redshirt the true freshmen, so as to not waste a year, like we did with Tyler Moore.
  10. Sorry, one more Billy Madison quote: "That Veronica Vaughn is one serious piece of aysch."
  11. "No milk will ever be OUR milk."
  12. And then he'll leave us for his alma mater.
  13. Would those of you are asking them not to hire from within please explain your viewpoint? I'm so sick of the revolving door that coaching at Nebraska has become. I want to hire Nebraska guys who want to stay at Nebraska.
  14. This is great news. The secondary can now be described as deep.
  15. How can the recruits not eat this up? It's kind of a dubious distinction, though, because it means that we can't get top talent to come here. If we can get 3-stars on to the NFL, what could we do with 5-stars? I want Suh to cram this article down Owa's gullet.
  16. Wow, you just can't believe anything a person says anymore. What happened to how much is son likes it in Nebraska? Can you imagine changing jobs once a year?!
  17. No way we lose to Northwestern twice in a row, but we'll trip up somewhere else unexpectedly again, like Iowa or MSU, and we'll end up 9-3 again. For those of you who write down the percentage odds that we'll lose, I just can't bring myself to write that down. I never think we have an 80% chance to lose. I think the worst thing I could write down would be 50%. We have a chance in every game - a break here, a break there...
  18. Not only is he not reading this, he would probably rather us salute him in some other way than drinking alcohol since he considers that the number one problem in college athletics, but since I worship the man, Happy Birthday, Tom Osborne!
  19. Unless the weather was terrible, I don't think anyone who was planning to go to the Spring Game would stay home to watch it on TV. The TV broadcast is for those of us who don't live near Nebraska anymore.
  20. I'm so sick of the SEC. Two teams playing each other for the title? That was a joke. And what about Miami? Why don't they have the death penalty yet? They gave hookers to teenagers!
  21. I think we schedule them because they are a guaranteed win, but they are still FBS, so when you schedule them, you say, "Well, at least we didn't schedule FCS."
  22. "I'm sure the 90,000 fans are thrilled to be paying 100 bucks to be able to watch a fall practice." That's a good point, but I'd pay it if I thought it helped our chances the next two weeks. Maybe some regulars will sell their tickets to folks who don't normally get to go. We just always seem to get so worn down by injuries; now, we have two bye weeks to spread out the pain.
  23. I think it's a great matchup. I, for one, can't wait to tailgate on the BYU campus - talk about a good time!
  24. Makes it easier for Bo to get that all-important 9th win which we've now decided dictates a successful season. You are one cynical dude. I say it gives us a nice bye week to get healthy before Wisconsin and Ohio St. back to back.
