  1. Yoshi? The guy who false started 3 out of 4 plays and got called for holding on the 4th
  2. If Solich was the one that drove our program into the ground than what role did Callahan play in all this?
  3. Well there is a difference between showing concern and complaining about how we don't GO 14-0 AND WIN A BOWL GAME EVERY YEAR LIKE GOD (Tom Osborne) DID. (sarcasm) I'm not behind the coaching desk I'm not out there at practice everyday so I can't say what the right answer is. I have my own opinions as does everybody else but there's a reason I'm not on the coaching staff. I don't see Bo Pelini coming in and telling me how to do my job so I'll let him be he's still a young coach and has a lot to learn he's much improved over when he first got here but he still needs to work on things. Will he ever turn the corner I don't know but I'm not going to sit here and complain everyday about everything he does either.
  4. There's a difference between voicing concerns you have for the program and complaining about it. We're not behind that desk day-to-day I can't say what the right or wrong answer is to keep us from GOING 14-0 AND WIN A BOWL GAME EVERY YEAR LIKE GOD (Tom Osborne) DID (sarcasm). Of course there are things I'd like to see but I'm not on the practice field everyday. Nobody I know expected us to win 9 games most people I know thought 7-5. We are all entitled to our own opinion but I don't think it's right sitting back and complain everyday about everything about Nebraska football and what the coaches should and shouldn't do. There's a reason I'm not a coach for the Huskers. They don't come in and tell me how I should do my job.
  5. We all want Nebraska to win every game and not get blown out but it's part of football. The competition of college football is way higher than it used to be. It used to come down to two teams with a shot at the National Championship but anymore there's always somebody that "should of had their chance". We're talking about a coach who just finished up his 4th year of being a head coach period. He has a lot of learning to do it's a fact of life. Most coaches start with a head coaching gig at some pud school from the Sun Belt or MAC. Sadly Bo was thrown into one of the most storied college football programs in the nation. He's not perfect and I can't honestly say if he's going to be a great head coach too early to tell. I think we're getting better and better talent just their young players. We're also talking about a first year offensive coordinator. I liked what I saw from Beck. There's things I wish he would of done differently like throw to the TE's rather than the WR's because Cotton and Reed have the sure hands on the team but bottom line the offense looked the best it has since the first year Bo was here.
  6. Isn't that the truth why would he want to stay at Neb. with the "support" he get's here.
  7. Why not? I'm just guessing the loser of the Big Ten game or Michigan will get the Capital One Bowl especially if Mich. can't get into a BCS game which at this point seems unlikely.
  8. I just wouldn't want the Oregon offense, but I'm sure Scott could of been and still could be a great asset to the staff. I'm not sure if he is ready to be and offensive coordinator, but he would be a great position coach.
  9. I'd like to play SC or Georgia in the Outback Bowl I don't think we're going to be able to sneak into the Capital One Bowl.
  10. Right now I don't consider Bo a top 10 coach but I think a lot of people need to chill. Every year since Bo has been here we've had a different offense 2008: West Coast 2009: Spread West Coast, then whatever that 3 play stuff was supposed to be 2010: Spread Option 2011: Multiple. We finally have a descent offensive coordinator and made big gains this season. Also, we are finally getting some good recruits not THE TOP recruits but we have a lot of young talent on the team. No matter what people think we are still rebuilding and it's going to take a few more years before we are consistently a top 10 team. GO BO!
  11. Post of the year. I hope you aren't the same guys complaining about Bo reportedly interviewing for the Ohio St. job on another thread.
  12. How much truth is there to Cody Green trying to convince Brion Carnes to leave? That's what interests me the most about all this
  13. Enhance89: Well I share a lot of the same opinions with you. I'm frustrated about a few things myself especially the 2nd half of the Mich. game. We do need to work on things, but there's no reason to take drastic measures on anything. This is Bo's first head coaching gig and he's learning and I see things getting better each year. To me we are a better team than last year some would disagree but we played a lot better competition this year. Also we are getting some good talent recruited. Our team has a lot of young talent this year I wish we would rotate them in more but I've seen a lot of young freshman come into college football games and fumble, blow a coverage, etc.
  14. Just out of curiosity what would be a successful season to all you "fans"?
  15. Well a lot of people are complaining Bo only winning 9 games every year and his record isn't good enough so we should bring in Leach, Mangino, or Urban Meyer that's the point I was making.
  16. Seriously do we need to keep going through this every time we lose a game? 10-2 9-3 heck even 8-4 isn't that bad. THIS ISN'T 1995!!!!! THE COMPETITION LEVEL OF COLLEGE FOOTBALL IS HIGHER THAN WHAT IT WAS 20 YEARS AGO Yes Bo has his recruits now but guess what 4 years ago we didn't get 4 and 5 star recruits have you noticed that a lot of our starters are Soph. or Freshman? For everybody who wants Leach these are his records from 2005 2005: 9-3 2006: 8-5 2007: 9-4 2008: 11-2 2009: 8-4 Mangino 2005: 7-5 2006: 6-6 2007: 12-1 2008: 8-5 2009: 5-7 Forget Meyer there's no chance that he is going to come to Neb. GROW UP
  17. Watson ran the same zone read play out of the same shotgun formation pretty much every down. His offense wasn't multiple at all. This year we run speed options, belly options, power options, zone reads, triple options, and run them out of 15 different formations. It's multiple yet not over complicated. Plus our passing game is improving just our "leader" in Kinnie can't catch a cold and our freshman struggle with drops too. I can't wait until Bell, Turner, and all these guys get another year under their belt.
  18. We have other weapons besides Rex and T-Mart. They have no idea however we need to just sit Kinnie he just doesn't have it this year and needs to get his head in the game. Our TE's have the best hands on the team and Marlowe is showing his abilities to nickel and dime the way down the field.
  19. In my opinion Ben has the best hands on the team. Plus he's a beast once he tucks the ball away I swear that guy can drag 10 guys behind him.
  20. It's sad that college football has turned into what it has. I'm just glad that Nebraska takes the right steps and doesn't try to hide stuff when we have issues like the student athlete text book thing that happened last summer I believe.
  21. Just wanted everybody's opinion on all these scandals going on lately and the lack of morals when we're talking people working with 18-22 year old kids.
  22. Look at it this way you are an 18 year old male on a recruiting trip you go to "scenic" Nebraska you see it has great things to offer a storied football program blah blah blah you go somewhere in Florida or Cal. and get the same stuff plus see beaches full of girls in bikinis... HMMMMMMM.....
  23. Why do we continually live in the past? Yes we've done some great things and we shouldn't complain I mean look at all the programs in the nation that go under .500 in WAC or C-USA. If we can go 10-2 9-3 or heck even 8-4 year in and year out in the B1G I think we're doing good things the competition level in college football is higher than 20 years ago.
  24. The QB that played against NW is capable of winning a championship. I disagree. Taylor Martinez is one of the dumbest people I have ever seen in my life. He does not have the smarts to play qb at a high level, at least not proficiently. Taylor Martinez is also extremely selfish and cocky. He thinks he is so much better than everyone else when he really isn't. This translates into his ability to change and get better. Case in point, his throwing motion. Anybody with half a brain would realize that they need to change how they throw the ball, at the very least, work on their footwork. He has shown that he doesn't care if his motion is bad. The amount of selfishness he displays is beyond comprehension. The best example came against Northwestern this weekend. On one play Martinez had a run of roughly 15 yards. The very next play was a zone read play. There was a hole big enough to drive a car through and Rex would have ran for days. Instead of handing it off like he should have, Martinez pulls the ball and the play results in roughly a 5 yard loss. I believe we ended up punting on the drive. I don't get what people see in Martinez. He had a good game throwing the ball. 1 good game. The problem with Martinez is that he CAN NOT be consistent in the passing game, EVERYONE KNOWS THIS. On the running game he makes terrible reads all the time or is just selfish and keeps the ball. He also can't make anyone miss if his life depended on it. He is a straight line runner. Martinez might have a good passing game every now and then or break a big run every now and then but he can't be consistent enough to lead us to a Championship. I find it hard to believe that our results would be much different if we played ANY other qb on our roster. Yes he's so selfish that against MSU he had what 150 total yards made a very late pitch on an option play so Burkhead could get an important 3rd down conversion oh and Sat. he ran through a tackle to get inside the 5 yard line. I agree early in the year and last year he was arrogant but this year he has grown into a team player and improves every week.
