  1. Number of penalties is down a bit. Penalty yardage overall is actually up a tick. Though I don't think a lot of those in either year came from the OL. Missing a few of Lewis' false starts but other than that....
  2. Apparently not a really big hit this year.....
  3. Listed Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Nebraska and Baylor as "big" offers. Huskers stick out to him. Wants to visit Oklahoma (apparently again as he's already been there) Looking for offers from Florida and LSU.
  4. He said we're his leader. Going to be a pain in Iowa's butt on Oct. 21 and visiting Colorado Nov. 15 before deciding.
  5. I don't use the User Rating but I would guess the difference between that and the Rep Feature is time. You can accumulate a lot of Rep Points simply by being around for awhile. Just because someone has 1000 rep points doesn't necessarily mean they're a "better" poster than someone with 250, they might have just been around longer. The User Rating would be independent of time. I've long suspected that Profile Views are affected by search engines (Google, Bing, etc.) "viewing" the page for their own purposes but I don't know if that's true.
  6. I'd be happy with 50/50 optimism/pessemism. Unfortunately for Nebraska, the 5 teams we have beaten are doing us no favors. Fresno, Wyoming, NW and Illinois were never going to look good on a resume and Oregon gave up after losing to us. I don't know if they gave up or they're a bad team. I would think a good team wouldn't give up I think they started quiting after 2 losses in a row. They kind of lack a locker room leader if I had to guess due to QB musical chairs. I would defintiely say that Oregon has quit. They have imploded. They were just going through the motions just like Nebraska did in 2007. Helfrich is gone at the end of the year, if not sooner. That team's a mess. There is zero faith in the system esp on defense. What I saw on saturday was not good at all. Spot on with the comparison to 2007. I'll add in 2015 Nebraska vs Purdue to that as well. Just no trust in the coaches whatsoever. And when you dont believe in what youre doing, it's impossible to do it full go. Theyre human after all. Dont see Helfrich surviving this. What's gonna be interesting is seeing where Oregon really stands in the world of College football or did they just happen to have a real fast up and coming coach for a few years that happened to be a genius of his time? I mean, the guy was an OC (not head coach) at New Hampshire before being the OC at Oregon for just two years, then bam. Head Coach and massive success. Not that Oregon was garbage before. Theyve been solid for a while. But Kelly took them to a whole other level. Now that he's gone, it's been a steady decline, and now the wheels are off. Did he really? Oregon had been solid quite a while before Kelly took over. In 01', Oregon probably had as big of claim to play Miami for the NC as anyone considering they were ranked #2 in both the coaches and AP poll. Even in Bellotti's final year at Oregon, they ended the season ranked in the top 10. Kelly kept the ball rolling, but his best season wasn't really any better than Bellotti's best season. Until this year, it appeared Helfrich was going to keep the ball rolling as well. It will be interesting to see where the chips fall at the end of the year. With the job openings up so far plus the ones that probably will be open, I doubt Oregon stands a chance in the Herman lottery. While there's still a lot of football to be played, there could be a ton of top programs looking for coaches this offseason. since that 2001 season under Bellotti.... 7-6 8-5 5-6 10-2 7-6 9-4 10-3 Under Kelly.... 12-2 12-1 11-2 13-2 2 NC game appearances in these four year. Different level? not only that, but it's probably multiple levels higher. I didnt realize till I looked up these records that the gap was this wide. My perception was simply based on two NC appearences in 4 years. These records tell me the comparison isnt even close. Belloti's records are comparable to Riley at Oregon St. Pretty easy correlation to make between Riley's flatlining/falling off at Oregon St and Chip kelly's instant rise at Oregon. And also Kelly was the OC the two years before he took over as HC. Not the same as being the HC but those were two of Belotti's three best years. It was Kelly's offense that really got them moving.
  7. Vegas set the line at -8, the line has only moved as the standard bettors have gone heavy on IU. The line only moves to ensure that there is equal money on each side. The sharps haven't really bet yet, that is who everyone should pay attention to, and I am betting they love the line down to -3.5. Usually I agree that the sharps bet late. But for the line to move that far that fast, I guarantee there was some big money on IU getting more that a TD. BIG money. Won't be surprised if the line bumps back up late in the week as they buy back some of that, especially if it drops to -3.
  8. The polls focus a lot on the record without taking a whole lot of strength of schedule or how you play into account, especially early in the season. I'm glad we're ranked that high. Doesn't really mean anything for the current season but I think it will pay dividends in recruiting. Some guys really want to play for a team that is contending for championships, especially the higher-rated guys. Going 6-7 doesn't help you sell that possibility. Being undefeated and in the Top 10 is definitely something you can sell, even if you don't end up there. And we absolutely have a chance to earn that. We should be favored in at least five of the last seven games. Wisconsin will probably be a slight favorite at home and tOSU will be tough. But if we finish 10-2 we'll definitely have earned it. All that being said, Sagarin has us at #22 and Vegas has us at #19, and that's probably closer to what we "deserve" at this point. But even at that, it's still only those same two teams ahead of us so we really have every chance to with 5-6 more games (before the CCG).
  9. I think it's about the least of a "trap" game as you can get. A trap game is either right after a "big" game or right before a "big" game against a lesser opponent. Not only is this neither of those but we had a bye week to prepare for them.
  10. Be interesting to see how we counter this. Sounds like several things: dummy calls, wrist bands, multiple coaches signaling.
