  1. I kind of doubt that Romney will win Nevada, Colorado, and Iowa when he trails in all three. He might pick off 1 . . . maybe even 2 . . . but all three would be quite a surprise. I would be surprised if he wins more than Colorado. It was just the first way I found to get a 269 tie.
  2. Current RCP No Toss Ups Map: My prediction: Wouldn't that be fun.
  3. I wonder where it would end up now - considering the core of that ranking is not on the roster. Ryan Klachko, Tyler Moore, Aaron Green, Bubba Starling (and Stafford/Carter are gone after this year). I noticed that as well. Really only Stafford will end up being a major contributor. Ouch.
  4. This is where you start to see the correlation between recruiting rankings and on-field success. 2006 January 8, 2007 2 Florida 41 1 Ohio State 14 BCS National Championship 2007 January 7, 2008 2 LSU 38 1 Ohio State 24 BCS National Championship 2008 January 8, 2009 1 Florida 24 2 Oklahoma 14 BCS National Championship 2009 January 7, 2010 1 Alabama 37 2 Texas 21 BCS National Championship 2010 January 10, 2011 1 Auburn 22 2 Oregon 19 BCS National Championship 2011 January 9, 2012 2 Alabama 21 1 LSU 0 BCS National Championship True, if you cherry pick the ones you want: Texas - 2012 - #2, 2011 - #3, 2010 - #3, 2009 - #5, 2008 - #14; Five-Year Record: 44-16 Miami - 2012 - #9, 2011 - #36, 2010 - #16, 2009 - #15, 2008 - #5; Five-Year Record: 34-26 Auburn - 2012 - #10, 2011 - #7, 2010 - #4, 2009 - #19, 2008 - #20; Five-Year Record: 36-24 Texas A&M - 2012 #15, 2011 - #27, 2010 - #17, 2009 - #22, 2008 - #16; Five-Year Record: 32-27 Tennessee - 2012 #17, 2011 - #13, 2010 - #9, 2009 - #10, 2008 - #35; Five-Year Record: 26-32 Compared to Nebraska - 2012 - #25, 2011 - #15, 2010 - #22, 2009 - #28, 2008 - #30; Five-Year Record: 44-18 So our best class were ahead of two classes that same year plus we were ahead of Tennesse one other time. Other than that, we were last for each given year. Yet we are only slightly behind one team for the best record over that time (and there may-or-may-not have been a disputed ending that could have changed that around).
  5. The same reason everyone seems to think three-star players aren't worth recruiting and the coaches aren't doing their job unless our classes are full of 4* and 5* players.
  6. 6-0, 185 lbs as a Soph who looks like he has speed and can run over people. Me likely! Highlighs from Rivals More Highlights from Hudl
  7. You didn't use the Nexus-approved format Player: Isaiah Santos Hometown: Spring, TX School: Klein Collins Position: Safety Height: 6' 0.5" Weight: 190 lbs. 40 time: 4.60 Offers: Rivals:NA 247: NA Scout: NA ESPN: NA
  8. Now in 3rd Place ... still only 0.2% behind so we need to get going!
  9. Thought about voting "Other" for "Score more points" but that doesn't lend itself to discussion. Turnovers has to be it. I really don't think they can drive the ball down a long field and have much success against us. Last year their offense crossed the 50 two times: a 9 play, 29 yard drive (that's 3.2 yards per play for one of their "better" drives) that resulted in a punt and a 13 play, 56 yard drive where they turned it over on downs. They got their field goal after an interception where they went 8 yards in 7 plays (not counting a NU penalty). Their offense is worse than last year - in 2011 they were #56 in total offense and #37 in scoring offense. This year they're #97 in total offense and #111 in scoring offense. Our defense is probably about the same as last year or possibly a little better if we can keep playing like we have the last two games. I just don't see how they will get to double-figures unless we help them out.
  10. Pretty sure there won't be any problem having a Sea of Red at Madison or Bloomington when we visit.
  11. He'd need one per game to get to 10.5 in the regular season. That seems very possible to me. I'd go over. Season record is 15. If we'd happen to get to the B1G Championship plus the bowl would be six games to get 8.5 more. Probably won't happen but if he gets a couple games with 2-2.5, you never know.
  12. But after the half ... we come storming back???
  13. Eric Martin - - for the 'do Taylor Martinez - - calls for the snap And I couldn't help but throw in one non-Husker Tyrann Mathieu -
  14. Agree, kind of. I got them like this if i had to rank them, but I'd take either one of the three. Williams>Newby>Kemp Not that I wouldn't be happy with any of those running backs, but why does everyone have Jojo at the bottom of their list? The guy is a beast and is top of my list. probably because jo jo isnt has highly recruited or rated as newby or williams. I love kemp, ameer abdullah was a guy not highly recruited and cross. Multiple SEC schools and USC (the real one)? I think his recruitment heated up late but there wasn't as much interest early, iirc.
  15. Replayed the 1994 Elite show after volleyball. Really enjoyed everything except how fast my evening disappeared.
  16. Will apply for it after the season. The NCAA will decide on the case to grant Zaire another year. Should be a slam dunk as he played very few quarters of games prior to the injury. Do you apply after the season or at the end of your eligibility? For some reason it seems like I heard you have to apply at the end but that might not be right.
  17. Last year we lost three in the non-con after finding a way to sneak out of USC with a W. I'll be happy with any win in the Wake-USC-Creighton-Oregon stretch. I could also see us slipping to Valpo, one of the Sun Bowl games and maybe throw one other in because you never know. Fewer than six losses would be good from where I sit.
  18. This seems to be the most likely way we lose. I will be shocked if they score more than 10 points on drives where they have to cross the 50 yard line. If we can stay away from giving them some cheap points, we should have every opportunity to win. Some seem to be acting like we've played a really solid game the last two. Like the "inconsistent" Huskers might show up at any moment. They must not have been watching the same Wisconsin or Northwestern games that I did or even the Michigan game to some extent. Against both Wiscy and NW, we played about as poorly as we could for nearly three quarters before getting things going. Michigan was better but far from great. Obviously, things can still go worse. But if we actually get out of our own way and play even most of a game at a level we've shown late in games, watch out.
  19. Is Michigan State's special teams really that bad? Do they typically have 15 yards punts almost every game? Do they make a habit of fielding kicks in the endzone only to bring them out to the 12? Honestly, I don't know. I haven't watched Michigan State play much. Agreed. Our special teams is overrated this year because of what they've done the past few years. Nothing too special about them this year. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure Papuchis was in charge of special teams until he became DC, which is exactly when our advantage in that phase of the game vanished. I have to disagree. Maher's found his touch again and was booming em through Saturday. People were saying the one he nailed from 51 would've been good from 65. Dude lost himself for a bit, but it looks like he got his head screwed back on, which is huge when you're playing a very good defense in MSU. Also, last week, the kick coverage improved a lot last week. Didn't give up any huge returns, and our return game was pretty dang good in it's own right. No dropped punts, and I was shocked to see Jamal Turner get good yardage on a kick return by-- and, try to stay with me here, I know this is radical-- running STRAIGHT ahead. I think if we protect the ball on punts and continue the good kickoff/punt coverage, and combine that with having Maher, we outclass them ST's wise. I agree with your disagreement. We haven't been quite up to our usual high standards but we're still well ahead of most. Just watch other games and see the indecision other teams have about what to do on 4th down from about the 30-35 yard line. Most go for it, even on long yardage. We don't think twice about a 50 yard FG. We haven't made them all but we expect to. Others don't even try. We're admittedly not very good at kick coverage - #95 in the nation. MSU is #116 Punt coverage isn't great either at #106. MSU is #93 We're think it's been terrible that we've "only" made 71% of our FGs this season. Our opponents have made 60%. MSU is at 73% NU is #20 in the nation in punt return average. MSU is #77 NU has only allowed 1 KO Return for more than 30 yards this season. MSU has allowed 3 NU has allowed 2 punt returns for more than 20 yards this season. MSU has allowed 3 I'd say we're not that good at covering kicks (punts included). Other than that, we're not too shabby.
  20. Opened us by 1.5. Was at us by 2.5 the day before the game. Didn't see what it closed at.
