Yep many people are talking as if Barney will be done coaching and taking a job in adminstration which many people saw coming for quite some time. Also there's been talks about Ron Brown retiring after this year, and as many people will remember this was brought up last year and he stuck around, but some feel he may want to focus on his health and ministry and may be coming to that point where he wants to make that switch permanent. Also knowing someone who talked to a player tonight, they said (in regards to Carl) that the team wasn't shocked and saw this coming and many of them do not want JP to become the next DC, but wouldn't be shocked if hires similar to last year or promotion within the program takes place. Hopefully Bo thinks this out and makes what he feels is the best decision for the program, which I fully expect in the end he will.

Word I got is Bo DID NOT interview for the job, and there was no reaching out from Bo or his people to Ohio St, and Ohio St did not reach out to Bo.

Now we have flat denials that he ever interviewed for the Buckeye job, and the one guy promulgating that story is backing off. In fact, when Bo called him to discuss it, he REALLY backed off. I can just imagine how that call went. So how does one conversation with a buddy and one false rumor equate to "any position he can?" I'm not seeing it. Are you 100% Bo had no interest in the Miami job whatsoever? Me: Yes. Do you have proof otherwise? You: Of course I can't show you proof - I can't link to conversations I've had. Me: Then we are at an impasse. You: I'm afraid so. I can't prove that it happened, and you can't prove that it didn't. Me: You're that sure? You: Yes. Me: Really. I don't know about anyone else but I find this statement hilarious. Can anyone on this board really see Dr. Tom Osborne yelling at Bo? I'm sorry, it's just too funny for words to picture!! Can I see them discussing this issue? Sure. And let's be real: This Jeff Rapp guy is all about getting reaction. An 'interview' to him could be nothing more than a phone call but the facts are this: (I think) I'm sure that Bo would have to have permission from the university before he could pursue a face to face interview. I'm listening to 1620 the Zone right now and Damon Benning is on there. Kugler asked him if he believed the rumore and Damon said no. Kugler said he was sceptical too. If Bo is unhappy at Nebraska then that is another story completely. I just can't see him leaving. He has established himself here, he and his family have embraced Nebraska and here is the most important thing to remember: If Mama is happy EVERYONE is happy. THIS. Times have changed. We need to get with it, or get run over. If we continue with the mediocrity we'll have trouble hiring a big-name coach (if it comes to that) and we'll lose ground with big-name recruits. Nebraska will no longer be Nebraska. Can't argue that.

If he even is around next year, why wouldn't we want him to have an important role? It would be the exact same as this year.
