  1. Anyone have stories they know or experiences? Love these stories!
  2. I don't know if many people on the board saw yesterday Kenny Bell, current Nebraska WR going off on Twitter about the concept of being paid to play, it's a topic that has come up countless of times and I've found myself being on both sides of the argument. What are your guys' thoughts on this? Yes? No? Maybe?
  3. The secondary is looking like it could be the strongest part of the defense this year, for safeties guys like Stafford, Smith, and Osborne rotating in at safety, Harvey Jackson and Corey Cooper (if he finally settles there) could also find meaningful time as well. For corner we'll Seisay who could be special, Green and Evans both improving from last year, Baptiste may rotate back in a little bit along with Josh Mitchell who's a dang good athlete, if Charles Jackson doesn't redshirt he could find his way onto the field as well. We have the athletes for the secondary, now if they can all get in the field.
  4. Trev Alberts would be a great selection as the new guy, and bringing a football guy would be good I would think. I imagine that he and Bo would communicate really well and would be on the same page because Trev would more times than not understand where Bo is coming from much like T.O. does now (with wha't going on in the program and the state of program), the thing is much like T.O., Trev would be a guy that Bo can't bs, Trev knows a successful program and wouldn't be afraid to include his imput in the same way T.O. has. And Bo would realize that it's another guy that will have his nose in the program because he has the knowledge to do so, he won't hold Bo back, but he'll certainly hold him to a very high standard.
  5. With no information whatsoever the only things I can say is that I don't agree with the decision to leave a program like Nebraska where you'd be in line to start come 2013. I'm sure more reasons will come out in the next few days, but for now good luck to Mr. Green. We want players who love this program and would be able to call it home.
  6. As someone who has followed coach Brown a long time it's hard for me to see him spread a message of hate and not love. Everyone deserves equal rights and shouldn't be discriminated against because of race/ethnicity/culture/and sexual orientation.
  7. Go after Josh Pastner of Memphis until he can't say no.
  8. Not sure I agree with a lot of this but it what it is and more importantly Bo is who is, he'll need to grow and hopefully in the future saying Bo is who is he will have more a positive tone than it does now, concerning the fans, media, and coaching.
  9. To build on this, the best athletes that we have would be getting the playing time, sometimes the best way to learn is just by being out there in game situations, and obviously recruiting elite athletes for the future.
  10. Would be a huge get IMO, he's the kind of athlete we need.
  11. I don't think we have the D-Line for the 3-4, at least right now.
  12. Amazing article by Dirk, same problems keep haunting Nebraska and costing them wins along with the penalties, discipline once again is killing the Huskers.
  13. I like everyone is saying teams with the best location in the country (and yes I include Oregon on that list of one of the best locations because everything stated above, and I fully believe Nike being right there does more wonders in recruiting than people will give it credit for) as reasons why nice uniforms aren't the reason people go there, Nebraska doesn't have the luxtury of most schools that are being listed do, to just say hey come to Nebraska because who wouldn't want to come live in Nebraska for 5 years over California/Florida or Alabama where home is a 2 hour drive away and not a 6 hour flight. It wouldn't hurt recruiting would it?
  14. People on this board seem to forget it's not what the 30 year old in the stand likes, it's about what the 18 year old kid you're trying to covince to come to your school likes. And in the age of "swag" cooler, new-age unis and school gear matter to 18 year olds. Why, because they're 18 year old kids.
  15. I wouldn't mind having some of that talent similar to what Bama was bringing at Jordan Jefferson all night long, from an athletic standpoint I'd lean towards Bama now, but NU had a great defense and it was their offense that made it easier on them (which isn't a knock, it's a good thing).
  16. Why is this in the Husker Football thread?
  17. This alone is why you should be worried about next season.
  18. In the 70's Nebraska played in 2 National Title Games, 80's they played in 1 National Title Game, 90's they played in 4 National Title Games, 2000's they played in 1 National Title Game. Let that sink in a little bit. They have played in at least 1 Title Game every decade since the 70's. Nebraska was good WAY BEFORE THE 90's. You're basically saying that Nebraska fans should wait another 15 years to possibly play in a National Title game? That's 2027. You're telling me Nebraska should go from 2001 to 2027 without playing for a National Title? 26 years? Almost 3 decades? When they have played in a title game every decade since the 60's. Sorry, you are wrong. I HAVE WAY HIGHER EXPECTATIONS THAN THIS. NEBRASKA IS BETTER THAN THIS. Why don't more people think like this? And why as a Nebraska fan would you want to think any other way? Thank you
  19. I agree and I would like to see players like Jamal Turner, Quincy Enunwa, Aaron Green, Brion Carnes be given the chance to prove whether they can be consistent in game situations. I've heard it many times that some players are just "ballers" as they call it and even if practice doesn't always go perfect when the lights are bright and the ball kicks off these type of players just seem to "get it."
  20. Sorry, this is what it was in response to. Are you saying that's wrong? Because I don't know who else you would say is more consistent... Yeah, I don't know of anyone on the offense more consistent (in a good way) than Taylor and Rex. I would argue Kenny Bell...and if he's not then it's because he hasn't been given as many opportunities as Taylor and Rex have, which may be a reason more guys aren't as consistent, not given as opportunities as Taylor gets.
  21. Cam took a step back from a year ago and his speed has become a question. As for our TE I'm not sure we have a TE on our roster right now that could make the switch. I'd like to see Eric Martin become a full time starter at DE come next fall.
