  1. Sanders is considered radical because this country is a$$ backwards in so many respects, and his radical label largely comes from those who profit from keeping the country a$$ backwards. His entire platform essentially boils down to ensuring a reasonable quality of life for everyone. If getting there seems radical it's because of just how far gone we are in this plutocracy.
  2. Ultimately, I just don't think there's enough time to drum up another impeachment before the election. If we are still in this hellscape next year then I would count on another impeachment with a partisan result (i.e. nothing because of the 2/3 majority required), but I'm very confident Trump will be voted out of the office he never deserved.
  3. Couldn't tell you about the Iranian government, but the dozens of Iranians that I met through work who came to the US for graduate school were excellent people.
  4. Polls aren't a fact. It's near impossible to craft one that perfectly reflects reality, and 10 months is a long time for voter perceptions to change. McMullin is entitled to his opinion that Bernie wouldn't beat Trump. It's just as easy for me to picture a reality where this happens as it is to picture one where Bernie wins. I know which situation seems more likely to me, but they're both possible.
  5. Because basically every Republican stance is in disregard of the facts and reality of the given situation. There is no reasoning with someone living in a manufactured reality, and it's very much akin to dealing with a troll.
  6. Yikes. I would take any team in a 5 state radius over Nebraska right now.
  7. I can''t help but feel this is going to come back to bite Minnesota badly. A guy posts the worst 8-0 record imaginable and you decide to throw everything you have at him? Was the administration that afraid someone was going to poach him? Did the big wins over Rutgers and Maryland get the AD hot and bothered? Gotta wait until the end of the season. Minnesota could easily go 0-4 the rest of the way. Here are his conference wins in 23 games played: Illinois (twice) Nebraska (twice) Indiana Purdue (twice) Wisconsin Rutgers Maryland The combined conference record of those teams in each respective year is 23-52. He is only 10-13 in conference play through 2+ seasons. You don't sell the farm for that kind of performance.
  8. It's not the journalists doing that work. That would be the rich a$$h@!es up top with an agenda that doesn't serve us.
  9. I don't post much anymore, but I'm with you. Never swear allegiance to a party. No issue is black or white and those institutions simply don't exist to represent our best interests. I think you'll find most are in that boat here.
  10. Hopefully not. There's nothing wrong with being conservative, but there is something very wrong with being Republican.
  11. I'm sure all talking points were fed to Rogan by Bernie's team, but I can't imagine any other candidate actually detailing their platform like Bernie has done here. Bernie seems like someone who genuinely cares about the working class. I wanted him to be president last time around, if only because he is an independent politician, but the further along we get the more his platform resonates with me.
  12. Good lord. Do you have any connection to reality?
  13. I want him in if only because he is independent. Sure, he's aligned with the Democrats for his presidential bids, but only so that he could stand a chance. We would be so much better off if people would divest themselves from these two parties that don't really represent anyone's interests but their own.
  14. I would say that I ran a stoplight on the way home from work today. I knew I shouldn't have, and might have gotten stopped if any cops were around to see it. My driving is a more serious issue than a $4 theft, would you have any sympathy for me if a cop saw this and then drew their guns on me? Cops can't be pulling guns on people without reservation.
  15. Absolutely brutal. "Thank you for showing that anger is not part of American political discourse". Funny how a conservative media personality goes into complete meltdown in the face of hard questions. No answers? Better just start shouting and end the interview!
  16. Can't help but notice this never got a response.
  17. Even after it has concluded nearly half the country believes that it's too soon to say if the investigation was conducted fairly? It's almost like all of us are waiting to see what it contains. At least no one is making any rash conclusions without seeing the details.
  18. Yeah, I remember my mother telling me about this. Something about how it's better to get out of the way younger so they'd try to get kids chicken pox intentionally. I think I got mine naturally, happened too young for me to remember. What seemed logical then sure seems messed up now.
  19. Websites dedicated to investigating facts are the biggest liberal sites. Another confirmation that facts have a liberal bias. Go back up and read TGHusker's post. Take his words to heart. Just because you hold conservative ideals doesn't mean you have lose your mind along with the party.
  20. I work in a credit union (you can call me a banker) and opened a simple savings account for one of our part-time tellers who was also going to grad school (straight from undergrad, so probably 21-22 years old) so that her wages could be easily accessed right there. She repeated a few times "wow, I'm adulting so hard right now" while filling out the one form we required, which only asked for contact info, SSN, and driver's license info. Maximum of 90 seconds to fill that thing out. Somehow that task was a spectacle for her, and very much fits your given definition of 'adulting'. I'm sure this phenomenon isn't new to this generation but still it's astounding to me how poorly a parent can prepare their children for the world.
