  1. I'm not saying everyone can, but I honestly think Nebraska can do better than Pelini. I don't know what to say to that... I really like what Bo brings to the table, and I will continue to support him. All it is going to take is a few more athletes on the field, and I think we are right there in the national championship conversation. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's why we play the game. I'm impressed with Nebraska's debut in the Big 10, and I think they'll continue to win 9 to 10 games a season. I'd give Bo one more year to figure things out. College football isn't what it used to be, even 10 years ago, and it's getting harder and harder to get a team that is a dominant as the ones Nebraska used to have.
  2. There are a lot of teams out that that want nothing more right now than to be a consistent 9-10 win team.
  3. The game is over. You can stop posting here. I'm not sure if anyone has said this, but isn't Jason Peter a drug addict? I regard his opinion about as highly as I regard dirk chatelain. I'm not posting here only because of the game. I live here in Nebraska as well. I support the Huskers, and I'd love to see them successful again. But I don't see that happening with Pelini.

  5. Yeah, screw it. Who needs creativity? Especially when you have just as much speed, strength, and overall athletic ability on our side of the ball as they do. We should have just lined up in goal line the whole time. Screw creativity. Ask Oregon, Clemson, Auburn, Michigan, etc. Creativity is a big part of making big plays. It's not as black and white as the game used to be. Creativity has a lot to do with it. My main grudge is that we never see the diamond formation, even though it seems that we always have success out of it. We also just seemed, that in the 2nd half, we never tried one of those crazy, unique, desperate play calls that is a risk/reward in terms of success. We played like we were down by 3 the whole time. Like we had punched in those scores in the first half instead of turning them over. I know you have to stick to your bread and butter and for us that's the option/running game with Rexy, but IMO, it felt like we didn't use everything in the toolbox to try and win. Just another disappointing part of the game, IMO. lol. Okay, Creativity. Its magical. South Carolina was better or as good in every position on the field- ESPECIALLY- the match ups on the offensive defensive lines. You can write as many paragraphs as you need and post 300 posts about coaches and play calling. But, until someone up front can block worth a sh#t, it doesn't matter which formation or play you run. That is just the play hard truth right now brutha. Yes, if our OLINE blew people of the ball and got the slightest push/pass block and we were still getting blown out- then yes- you can come in here and question "play calling" "creativity" . It comes down the those front 5 blocking. They didn't. They cant. They havn't been able to all year. We were man handled. Done. I get what you're saying there about the o-line not getting good run blocking in the second half, but that's where coaching comes into play. If something's not working, try something else for god's sake! They should have watched the Arkansas-SC game.. they beat up South Carolina's pass D all day with quick, short passes and screens. That's how you beat an overly agressive defensive line like South Carolina's. I saw a few screen plays here and there, but not many short passes or dump offs to the backs. The bottom line is that it's the coaches' responsibility to figure something out when something else doesn't work. Look at South Carolina's season for instance. The team came into the year with expecations of playing for the SEC Championship Game, with a 3,000 yard passer, 1,000 yard rusher, and 1,000 yard receiver. Garcia came in and stunk it up with the passing game, throwing twice as many interceptions as touchdowns in the first 5 or so games. He was eventually kicked off the team, but that's besides the point. Marcus Lattimore went down in the second half of the season. There goes the running game. So what did Spurrier do the rest of the year? Adjusted. He ran the quarterback more, passed only to keep the defenses honest, and won a lot of low-scoring slug fests. It was not at all like previously-coached Spurrier teams. Like I said, it's all about coaching. Nebraska lacks a lot in that department, and I honestly don't see any better results than the past 4 years in the future with Pelini at the helm. JMO.
  6. If I were the Athletic Director at Nebraska, I'd fire Bo simply because of his sideline antics and post-game comments. He doesn't know how to keep it together. You can't expect a team to play their hearts out for a man with an attitude like Bo.
  7. I know you probably don't want to hear much from Carolina fans, so you can write off my comments if you want, but I figured I'd chime in on this. I've lived in Omaha for almost 4 years now, and over that time span I've found myself pulling for the Huskers more and more. I like the program, the tradition, and the fans. The people and their passion of the game remind me a lot of South Carolina fans. That being said, I was disappointed in Pelini during and after the game. The way he coached during the game was pathetic, and the way he placed the blame on the players was equally pathetic. When you have a team out there that has the talent to go head to head with a team like South Carolina, you should be more focused. Pelini decided he was going to focus more on yelling at the refs and having a bad attitude about the way the game was going rather than coaching his players to get better results on the field. The team picks up on the attitude of the coach. He was yelling at the refs and at his own players in frustration, and that influences players. I saw someone mention the fact that Saban does the same thing at Alabama. He does to a point, but it's obvious that he knows how to coach a lot better in situations like this than Pelini. When the players don't execute, only so much of it is their fault. Coaching plays a huge role in what happens on the field, whether it's leading up to a game or during it. You can't expect the team to play their hearts out if the coach is on the sideline whining about a bad call. (And yes, I'll say it, Nebraska got the short end of the stick as far as referees go. There were a lot of penalties that should not have been called, but that's not the reason Nebraska lost). My point is that Pelini is not coaching his players right. If he keeps it up like this, calling out the players and placing the blame on others where at least part of it should be on you, Nebraska won't get any further than 9-10 wins a season. I like Nebraska a lot, and I really want them to win a National Championship one day (as long as it's not over Carolina ), and I don't see that happening with the way things are going with Pelini. My opinion? Give him one more year to sort things out and see if he can do something with this team. If he gives similar results next year, it's time to change something up.
  8. I gotta say, Nebraska has gotten screwed this half. Refs are stinking it up.
  9. Good game so far... Nebraska is moving the ball at will. South Carolina has a few big plays and the d is going them opportunities to score. Southfarolina has won a few games where they were statistically dominated but had help with a bunch of big plays.. Georgia for one. I Hope SC can get some momentum, but it's a good game so far. Go c$%ks!
  10. ... This guy does know that SG is no longer on the team, right? Since what? Game 5 or so? SG can be black out drunk during this bowl game and it will have absolutely no effect on the Gamecocks football team. Please remove our team name from your username ASAP. Thank you. Really, guy? Really? It was sarcasm... Which I sense you don't understand.
  11. Wow. Now that ain't right. Marcus Lattimore?..... Face palm. This thread is full of win. I'm laughing my ass off over here lol
  12. That happened to me earlier when trying to view SC's recruits. I was kind of confused.
  13. What some people fail to realize is that the landscape of College Football changes every day. Just the right things need to fall into place throughout the year for a team to win a national title. Who would have thought, preseason, that Auburn would be so good last year? Or Alabama the year before that? I can't say anything about Florida... they had superman. Look at South Carolina! Preseason favorites to win the SEC East and go to their second SEC Championship Game, only to lose their 5th year senior QB (Who sucked this year, btw) and have their Heisman candidate running back injured. And they still somehow mustered up 10 wins for only the second time in school history. And it took 6 years of building before this season for Spurrier to finally get results at a program that has never had a history of winning. Now they've just come off of back to back 9+ win seasons (which still hasn't really hit me yet) which has never happened before. It takes time, guys, and from what I've heard, Bo Pelini didn't have a ton to work with when he arrived. I'll be completely honest.. I hadn't even heard of the Nebraska Cornhuskers until the 2007 season when I saw them in the top 10. (I think it was 07, hard to remember) I'm a Carolina fan, so I come from a long line of heartbreak and disappointment. Zero National Championships, One conference title (1969 ACC), and only 4 bowl wins (or something like that). I'd be happy as ANYONE if, for the next decade, South Carolina won 9-10 wins a season every year, won one national championship, and a couple SEC Championships. I hear a lot of fans calling for Bo's head around here (and, of course, a lot that aren't), and I don't understand why. He's done better than average for the 4 seasons as HC at Nebraska, and they're consistently in the National Title talk. I'd take that as a fan of any school.
  14. Sure, I'd love to go drive 15+ hours to sit outside in -5 degree weather and watch two teams that have probably never played in a football game with temperatures below sixty degrees.
  15. My middle initial. It's at the end because nellapnaes looks funky.
  16. Hey all, saw a link to the board on cockytalk (USC board) and figured I'd drop by. I'm from SC but I'm stationed at Offutt, so I live in Bellevue. I'm pretty excited for the bowl game this year. I have a few. Buddies from the area that are Big Red fans and, of course, everyone else in the city and surrounding areas. I'll be sporting my team big time the next month, so if you're in Offutt housing just look for the house with the gamecock stuff all over it haha. I drive a black four dour Nissan frontier with white stickers on the rear window, so if you see me, don't mess it up please . Kidding, y'all have some of the best fans out there. Before moving away from Home, I thought gamecock fans were as passionate about their teams as you could be, but I was way wrong. Y'all take the cake 100%! Heres hoping for a good clean game (and a gamecock victory!). Go gamecocks!!!
